Hello,
We are new to the area and are looking for anyone that might have some good recommendations on where to go for the 4th of July. We are leaning towards going to Tanglewood Park right now but wondered if it would be too crowded. If you have been there, can you please share your previous experience(s) with me?

Thank you,
M.

What can I do next?

I went to Tanglewood last year. ( I'm the one Kim C. mentioned )
There were alot of people there but it wasn't too bad. They have you park in a big field & you watch the fireworks in the area in front or side of your vehicle. We had enough room to set up our blanket & chairs, others had those shade tents & set up their grills. If you want to do all that go early so you can set up a spot next to your vehicle so you'll have room. There was no activities for the children at all so I would suggest bringing plenty of stuff for your little boy to do or just picking somewhere else to go. There is a pool there but not within walking distance, so you will have to move your vehicle & loose your spot.

I think this year we might go to a park that has alot more going on because the kids were pretty bored last year.
We haven't figured out where we are going yet.

M.,
Our churh has an awesome 4th of July celebration. We have food and bouncy houses for the children. We even have some water games, like a water slide. LOL
The kids have a blast.
We are located across from the fire dept in Kernersville where the fireworks are set off, so we have the best seat in town. We also, have a concert going on all day. Starts @ 3 and goes until the fireworks end.
We are located in Kernersville, which is aboiut 15 minutes from Winston Salem. The name of our church is Calvary Chapel of the Triad. You can get directions and research ____@____.com
If you DO decide to check us out look for me. I will be wearing a red shirt. Just ask someone for D. Zill. I hope to see you and your family on the 4th. :)

I have never attended the July 4th festivities at Tanglewood, but have always heard good things. I know a mom on here who went to Tanglewood last year. I will ask her if she might be willing to come post her experience.

We haven't been to Tanglewood, but we have been to fireworks at Shallowford Square in Lewisville. I haven't heard if they are doing them this year. They are free. Bring your chairs & blankets. Sometimes parking is hard and you might have to walk a ways, which might be hard for you so close to your due date.

Hi M.,

Emerald Point Wet N Wild in Greensboro has fireworks July 3 and July 4. They start at 9 or 9:30p. Also, Festival Park in High Point on Rt 68 has fireworks that are supposed to be good. Parking for it is $10. Just a couple more options for you. Bringing things to do as mentioned in a previous posting is a great idea. Good luck and welcome to the area. We just moved here 2 years ago ourselves and loving the area.
