H.,
We have the city mini by Babyjogger. I really like it. It does cost $229.00 though. I also know people have found less expensive ones at Target.
Gook luck,
Leeann M
Can someone recommend a decent jogging stroller...mostly used for walking? Would like a swivel wheel, but one that also locks for running. I've seen the BOB Revolution stroller, but not sure if it's worth it or not. My son is 2 years old.
Thanks!

I got the In Step Safari Swivel Wheel Jogger - Single Gray/Green
at Target for $135. It's pretty cool. 4 1/2 star rating.
I LOVE my BOB! You can wheel it with your pinky finger! It's really good for rough terrain too. We took ours apple picking and it was fantastic to wheel through the orchard. Ours was a gift and I know they can be very pricey. We probably would not have bought it with our own money, but we are so happy to have it.
Since your son is "so old" you should definitely buy good quality but used.
Check out craigslist.
I really like the Mountain Buggy!
The seat snaps off so you can wash it.
It can hold a kid up to 100 pounds. It is perfect for running- lightweight, easy to maneuver and the front wheel either locks or swivels. (Though I never find the need to lock it)
It also stores well- completely folds flat and fits easily in the car trunk. You could also store it folded flat but upright.
Also, make sure the tires are fully inflated, it makes the going much better.
I have a Baby Jogger City Series (http://www.babyjogger.com/city_classic_sngl_dtl.aspx), it's been a fantastic jogger- which I also use mostly for just power walking. It has the front swivel wheel, which can also be locked to straight (when my husband uses it for running). I would recommend!
I love my Bob. It is so durable, but I will say my brother works in a cycle shop and probably got it for cost. They are $$$.
Hi there!
Whatever you do try not get sucked in by the bells and whistles.Baby Trend seems to always have good affordable strollers-I've had 2 and have never had a problem with them. Also try Craigslist-I just bought a second one for $40.00.
Hi H.- I was obsessively shopping for a jogging/ hiking/ walking stroller, and I ended up making the leap to the Bob Revolution- just last week. So we've only had it a few days, but we have already hit the trails with it and really like it a lot. It is expensive, but I reasoned that I'll be using it almost every day, often over dirt trails and gravel. And it has a huge canopy. And we need something easy to throw in the trunk of the car. BUT- after all that shopping, I just noticed that Amazon is offering a 10% sale on them right now, so they are $40 cheaper now at $350 new. My second choice was the Mountain Buggy Urban- you can get one new, including rain cover at Albee Baby for $279- which is $100's less than every where else. But- it seems like the canopy is skimpy, and I wondered if it would be more difficult to replace the tires since the Buggy is made in New Zealand. In my obsessive research, I also found that the Schwinn Free Wheel rated well and is much less expensive- under $200. I did go try one out, and it feels really great- but my daughter "complained" about the seat- it sits back a bit far. Hope that helps. Honestly, even though I love the Bob, if I didn't plan on doing a little jogging also, I would just buy the Instep Safari for around a $100 and then get a good frame back pack for the trails.
I have the BOB revolution and love it for walking and jogging. I originally had a Baby Trend Expedition and it was horrible! I used it only for walking for a couple of months and it seriously fell apart. The customer service is terrible. The warranty is only six months and they will do nothing for you after that. I got it has a shower gift two months before my baby was born and didn't start using it until she was one month old. I had to replace it when she was only three months old because the warranty had already expired. I wish I had just got the BOB originally instead of wasting the money on a cheaper stroller.
Hi H.,
I just wanted to let you know that I have the BOB stroller and I LOVE it! I do use it for jogging (as well as walking, of course), so I can't speak to whether its worth it for mainly walking. But, it is so easy to use, sturdy, light weight and just great!
Good luck!
I have a more inexpensive hogging stroller from Schwinn with front wheel swivel/lock option that I use fur running and all around. Down side is that it it BULKY and nearly impossible to stuff into a car.

Price is better than some $184 new at walmart. It has a large totally moveable sunshade which I love, and you can purchase both a raincover (use it all the time - we go out no matter the weather) and a bug net (have yet to use).
I'd love to have a more streamlined one but this stroller was a shower gift and is perfectly comfortable.
I love our BOB Revolution. I bought it when my son was about 18 months old to replace the travel system stroller with small wheels (that was AWFUL for taking walks on anything but perfectly smooth pavement.) It has a swivel wheel that can also lock. The seat can recline slightly and also lay down (almost flat) for naps. The sun shade is good and has a flap window for checking on your little one. I use ours for everything. It folds up quickly and fits well into a trunk of the back of my van. I brought it to Disney last year and it was great!
I shopped around- REI, www.joggingstroller.com. I think joggingstroller had the best price when I bought it, but sometimes REI has good sales. You might also try craigslist.
Good luck!
I got the BabyTrend Expedition double jogging stroller for my new baby and two-year-old. It has been awesome. My friend has the single one and has been jogging for two years with her daughter, as well. We both love it!
It has a swivel wheel and plenty of space below to stow my diaper bag, coats or supplies. It comes with small speaker for your MP3 player hook-up and a great cup rack for your watter bottle/phone, etc.
I've been jogging the stroller to the park almost every day and it works great. My two-year old falls asleep in the stroller and it reclines enough that youngest daughter can sleep securely and get diaper changes. I'm very happy i didn't spend the $500 for the BOB stroller. Mine was $189 at Babies R US.
H.. We have a BOB revolution stroller and LOVE IT!! I highly recommend this stroller and I think it is worth every penny. We actually are expecting our second and I will be going out and getting the double as well. Love this stroller. I think you won't go wrong with this stroller.

I LOVE, love love my Mountain Buggy. I found it on craigslist for $110 - if you check daily, you should be able to find one for much less than retail. I just use it for walking but it's great for walking on all terrains - we like to go on grass, trails, beach, etc. so we needed nice big wheels. It also folds up and down very easily and is light, which is important to me because I am a big wimp and hate lifting heavy things! =)
We have BOB Revolution Duallie. We LOVE it! It's like pushing nothing, even with two kids on board. We have taken it to Disney World twice. I don't know what we'd do without it. It's awesome! Worth every (large) penny!

We're looking for a stroller to take with us on our Disney trip this year, and we fell in love with the Baby Jogger City Mini. It's an "urban terrain" stroller - not really meant as a jogger, but turns on a dime, and has a HUGE sunshade - a bonus for us! It also has a super easy fold, and weighs only 16.5 pounds. It's pretty pricey for a single stroller at $229, and it's a newer release, so there aren't any second hand that I could find. I'm hoping to stumble upon a good deal, or maybe wait in hopes the price comes down a little.
Good luck!
I have a Phil and Teds and love love love it. Plus, you can later add a tandem seat behind the front seat and turn it into a doubles stroller (without adding any side to side width) if you plan to have more kids. I'm using it as a single stroller now, though, and think it's fantastic.
