I hate cleaning. Blanket statement, ALL cleaning. I have a great gal who comes in once a month and helps. I do more that day while she is here than I do rest of the month. I like to clean with another,, hate it by myself.
....you absolutely DESPISE doing?
I can't choose just one. I will NOT clean the bathroom, take out the garbage, or cut the grass. Those are my husbands only jobs.
I can't stand it when the sink fills up with dirty dishes. I hate touching dirty dishes; makes me gag.
I hate sweeping/mopping hardwoods floors. Why hardwood floors are a selling point is beyond me. I'd gladly vacuum carpet/rugs twice a day, then deal with hardwood!
I hate laundry only because I have to do it every day... but I can't stand letting it pile up either.
So what is the one chore you absolutely despise doing? Do you do it first to knock it out? Or do you wait as long as possible to dive into it?
LOL DENISE, I'll trade you!! ;)
I hate cleaning. Blanket statement, ALL cleaning. I have a great gal who comes in once a month and helps. I do more that day while she is here than I do rest of the month. I like to clean with another,, hate it by myself.
Mopping. It makes me tired and no doubt as soon as im done somebodys gonna spill something. Pisses me off!
My husband cooks and I hate to cook...however, I will cook just so that I don't have to clean up his mess! he cannot cook without the kitchen becoming an after effect of a land mine. So dishes is numero uno on my list.
I would rather have hard wood than carpet...my kids cannot go into a room with carpet and not get something on it. Plus we have a black lab and the hair drives me nuts.
I don't mind laundry it's just the putting it away part...cause I know that within five minutes it won't look the way it should in the kids room.
Dusting...I apparently am allergic to it!
Updated: I am with eagleeyekt...I will put off for tomorrow if there is something fun to do today...
I hate all of it and wish I could afford a maid dammit :)
I refuse to take the trash to the curb. It would require me getting up at 6am, putting clothes on, and carrying bags of stink to the curb - not gonna happen
I also hate nasty man toilets, but I do it or else I would have to go to the neighbors to pee.
You crack me up.
I am the exact opposite with regard to hardwood. As an allergy sufferer, I will take hardwood over carpet anyday. Even without allergies, I would prefer hardwood. Carpet you cannot really get clean, unless you shampoo it VERY regularly. Hardwood, I know it is clean when I scrub it. Baby spit up? No problem! Spilled juice? I don't even bat an eye.
I really like doing chores (strange, I know). I like the feeling of getting something done. What I hate is that I am too tired during the week to do them. Then, on the weekends, I would rather play with my kids and hubby. It is hard finding that balance!
So, my chore I hate....hmmmm...
Probably laundry. I work full time and have three kids, so laundry does NOT get done daily! Lol. So, it piles up throughout the week and I end up doing 6 plus loads on the weekends. Miserable. And I don't mind the loading, unloading, etc. It is the putting away I hate!
*ETA: Ooh. Denise P got it - grocery shopping. I wasn't thinking outside the house! I HATE grocery shopping!
=)
I HATE cleaning the showers, and taking out the trash. I really don't mind sweeping or moping the floor. I hated carpet more than anything. It gets so dirty and gross, so mopping is no big deal to me. I don't like doing the dishes, but it has to be done and I don't have a lot of counter space, so I have to do it or else I have no room to cook the next meal.
I am kind of a clean freak. If I know anyone is coming over, I go crazy. I can not let anyone, ever see my house a mess. I don't care who it is, I will turn up the music and get busy!
I hate cleaning the toilets and the surrounding area...my hubby and son have very bad aim!
For some reason, I absolutely HATE emptying the dishwasher! Can't explain it, really, but yeah, that is my most annoying chore.
I would do ALL of your listed things if I didn't have to grocery shop and then schlepp it all home & then put it all away! Ugh! HATE that O.!
I cannot take hair out of any drain. Makes me gag, too. I hate dishes. Hubby does them. I do all the laundry. I have the pile up system going. I let it pile up on days/weeks when we are busy, then I do it when I have a movie to watch or some tv show that I love is on the DVR. I don't do floors, either. I have hardwood, and I love them, but no one ever taught me to mop, and I think I do a crappy job, so Hubby does them. I do clean the bathrooms sorta, but hubby does a better job. I am the cook. I am the social organizer, the shopper, and sometimes trash. I am now starting to have kids do more as they are 11 and 12. I have fun first, then do chores. I grew up in a family that didn't go on vacations, didn't do excessively fun things. I don't want to miss anything because of chores. On dishes, have everyone rise first before putting in the sink. That makes them not smell and no flies, either. I like weeding. Makes me feel good to see the clean dirt. haha. Have a great day!
Picking up the dog poop.
I absolutely hate cleaning bathrooms which I find humorous because I expect that to be the cleanest room in the house. I will do yard work but refuse to in the summer because I overheat really easy. I tend to do the chores I hate more first. If I do them last maybe I can talk myself into being too tired to do them after doing all the other chores. I love cleaning the kitchen because that is my domain and I want it to be cleaned by me because I know where everything goes.
unloading the dishwasher. It take so much time and when you are done, nothing looks improved. Its relentless, has to happen every day! I hate it. Dishes in general, because they are never ending.
of the task I hate soooo much i refuse to do them- ironing. We send in my husbands shirts and everyone else can go wrinkley. I don't buy clothes for myself or kids that require ironing.
I don't really mind anything because I like a well kept house, but I do hate doing laundry esp. poopy laundry. I feel like I am washing poopy clothes from one child or another every day. I am always caught up with my laundry because of this. If my LO one would keep his poop in the diaper and my oldest son would wipe his butt better I would be almost poop free!
Back in the day we had a housecleaner and the SECOND I can afford another I am getting one! I really hate all of it too. But I don't do the bathrooms. The kids are old enough to do theirs and hubby does the toilet in ours and I do the rest. My husband does all the laundry and trash thank God! He also sweeps and mops. I put the dishes in the dishwasher and he puts them away. Everything else we kind of just do between the two of us or we recently started making the kids to more since they are older now.
wow - it sounds like you hate ALL cleaning lol! i hate dusting... my "most hated" chore seems to cycle, but right now, it's definitely dusting all my dark wood furniture. i would LOVE to have all hard floors - i HATE HATE HATE my carpet. yes, i guess in theory, it's easier to "clean", but carpet is NEVER really clean, can't wait to rip it up and put all tile down. we have hardwood and tile in about half of our house - we vaccum with a hardwood floor safe vaccum cleaner, and i mop once a week unless there's something messy - hard floors are so much easier to actually get clean, and i don't think i've owned a broom in many years!
washing/scrubbing the shower/bathroom area.
I hate dishes, but 90 % of the time my husband does it. I also hate cleaning, but do it when it needs it. I'd gladly switch with my husband and let him do the inside work and I'll do the yard, but he'd never go for it!
I will do anything around the house if I can get out of doing the dishes! I HATE dishes! And we have a dishwasher, so it's not even that bad, but it's the worst! I have a great hubby who will do them for me from time to time if I ask...lucky me! There really isn't anything else I hate doing. I actually love doing laundry...I really don't know why though!
I HATE cleaning the toilet. Its not fair!.....i know for a fact i didnt pee all over it, lol!, thats what men are notorious for, they should have to clean it.
i may have to hire a maid once a month JUST for my bathrooms
I hate cleaning toilets. But if don't they will be disgusting. I can count on one finger how many times my husband has done it. I hate picking up little odds and ends. I don't know how to explain that one.
I hate brushing my daughters teeth. She is such a pain about it! Her hair is even worse. She runs through the house while I chase her down with a comb. I get one stroke in and off she goes again. It takes 15 minutes to get the damn thing done. But I guess I should look at the bright side, at least I am getting some exercise.
I hate cleaning the bathrooms especially the toilets - but it has to be done.
Cleaning up the clutter - I'm horrible at it.
Some days I get disgusted and feel like throwing half the contents of the house out, but there never seems to be time enough to sort through and organize.
Dirty dishes don't bother me - I use to have a work study job in college in a bio lab washing moldy petrie dishes, beakers and test tubes (man, that stuff could seriously STINK). They had to be washed multiple times, then rinsed in distilled water before they went into the autoclave for sterilization.
Most of our house has hardwood floors - the Roomba does a pretty good job on them in between swiffing and vacuuming.
My son helps with loading/unloading the dishwasher, putting groceries away and taking out the trash (to the can, and to/from the curb on trash day).
Laundry, cooking and food shopping don't bother me.
My husband does any repairs that are needed, take care of the cars and boat, maintains the salt / chlorine in the well water system and changes the air filters and smoke alarm batteries.
We hire a retired neighbor to mow the 3 acres and trim around the yard.
i really dislike vacuuming and ironing. when i was working full-time i just didn't, i farmed those out to the guys. now that i'm not working i feel obliged to do them, but i have to carrot-and-stick myself to do it. i really hate windows too. i never do them.

Dishes.
Laundry
Bathroom
I have not done a dish for almost three years now. I hate it. It is the one duty my hubby does. Even if they are piled up and we have no clean dishes, I will not touch them. There is something gross about touching dishes.
Since my kids are still on the young side....my house is always a work in progress. I keep telling myself they wont be this messy forever. eventually they will figure it out:)
Cleaning my basement and entertaining the kids.
I actually like to clean the bathroom! But I keep it pretty clean; I've cleaned other people's bathrooms that were dirtier and it was gross.
I also hate touching dirty dishes. I hate when my husband haphzardly throws dirty dishes in a sink with water, and then doesn't do them, so then I have to go in later and stick my hand in the nasty cold water to drain the sink and rearrange the dishes so they are doable.
Also hate grocery shopping, especially when I have to drag the kids along.
Folding and putting up laundry! I agree I hate hardwood floors. Our whole house is hardwood. I have to constantly sweep/mop them everyday!
Mopping floors! KILLS my back.
And brushing my kids teeth! They are such drama queens and I am such a freak about teeth! They never let me really get at them like I want!
Ironing - I would rather pay someone to do it than iron.
Hardwood floors! LOVE 'em!!! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!!! easier to clean - vacuum and mop and keeps the pollen and dander down for people with allergies..
I don't mind cleaning the bathroom - I just don't like to clean the one's like my former In-Laws...they could be on hoarders and make all the other people that have been there look clean - it was (my stomach is turning thinking on it)...
Don't do your laundry every day - do it twice a week - you are wasting a ton of water and electricity doing it daily...i know you've got three kids and a hubby - but don't do it daily.
so my "chore" - I won't iron. Hubby knows this too. If I'm ironing - he knows there is gonna be HE$$ to pay!!!
I despise dusting, so I just don't do it. Oh, and windows, and cleaning out closets...
I actually puke it i have to clean up the cats puke :( I hate cleaning out the fridge!
Taking out the trash!
I'm a "retired" SAHM (read: no paying job and grown children) so I feel that most of the household chores are mine to do - and I really don't mind most of it. I do all the cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, errands, etc. I don't ask a lot of my husband in the housekeeping department. But he ALWAYS takes out the trash (from the house and to the street.) He also does all the yard work, including picking up dog poo. He tells everyone that he doesn't lift a finger at home... it's not exactly true, but it's a good story! :D
He often offers to empty the dishwasher because it hurts my back. I swear he puts everything away in the wrong place on purpose, so I won't accept his offer in the future. It works -- for a while. lol
I really tried to think of something I despise, but I couldn't. I'm trying to think of which I like the least... :)
Dishes - I HATE doing the dishes and it seems like the one chore that I am constantly doing
I also really dont like putting my clean clothes away. For some reason I dont mind having to go to the basement to put the clothes in the machine or even again to switch it over to the dryer but when it comes time to fold it all and put it away I am not a fan
The chore I despised the most, I "cancelled" and haven't done, in, oh.... 10 years?
Hanging clothes on hangers, or folding them and putting them away.
We use neither hangers (except from the dry cleaners, and for Peter Pan type games, and breaking into the jeep yet AGAIN), nor dressers. Instead I completely redid my son's and my closets to be rows of hooks. The clothes come out of the dryer, go into a basket, and get hung up on the rows of hooks. Shirts on the top row, pants on the bottom row. I DO have a lingerie chest, and said unmentionables, and socks, etc just get lobbed in the appropriate drawers. Dresses get hung on a "tie rack" that I appropriated for them. Unintentional "YAY! BONUS!" ? My son could put his clothes away appropriately since he was 2 years old, ON HIS OWN. Niiiiiiice.
I absolutely, out and out REFUSE to hang clothes on hangers or fold them. Period. Nope. Huh-uh. Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent.

Seconds 'most hated'. Touching any kind of dirty dish that hasn't been used in the past 60 seconds. I've yet to figure out a 'work around' for dishes.
Grocery shopping.
Ugh.
Hate it.
