Is the Asymmetrical Bob Still "In"?

Hi ladies! I have a silly hairstyle question for you all- is the cute asymmetrical bob hairstyle still "in" or is it a thing of the past? I still wear this style because I really think it is the best style for my face, but I was just curious if there is another similar style out there that may be a bit more "modern". I get my hair cut in 3 weeks and was thinking of switching it up a bit. (I haven't had it cut since January)

Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks, ladies! Ha, ha, I was indeed referring to bobs, not boobs!! Thanks for the laugh-I needed that! My "bob" is pretty long in front and the back has pretty much no style or angle anymore since I haven't gotten it cut in so long! All suggestions were great!

Mine's still cut in the asymmetrical bob. I don't care what anyone else is doing. I do what I think looks good on ME. : )

I have recently decided to let it grow longer, but it can still be cut similarly... Just longer! (just like the first poster suggested... Jen Aniston's longer bob)

I'm a stylist and there are so many bobs (and shags and bob/shags) now, most of them you can't even tell it's a 'bob'.

Now, are you talking about the classic bob in which it is chin length and the front is cute a tad longer? If so, then yes, I would certainly still do that if it flatters your face.

I have a longer asymmetrical cut as well... it's about 4 inches longer in the front than the back. B/c my hair is wavy, most people don't even realize it's cut that way, but I do it b/c I love it. You can see the front of it here:

If you are talking the "Pob" (Posh spice style bob-stacked a little in back and dramatically longer in front-also the "gosselin"Kates old haircut) then no-way out of style. The assymetrical bob where it is slightly shorter in back and longer in front is a classic and will always be in. Actually what is hottest right now is the "lob" (long bob) Like Jennifer Anniston just got.

Add some shag to it. Shaggy bobs are in style and are easy to maintain (dry with your head upside down and fluff).

Well I still have my hair cut like that so yes! , I also wanted a change recently and didn't know what to do (my hair does not look good long) , so I decided to have bangs put in , if you don't have bangs maybe try that?

I think I may have misunderstood the type of "bob" you mean , mine is a graduated bob (like posh spice) but not as high as hers was at the back , much softer and blended. You could give that a go

i thought you meant having the left side of your head almost shaved and the right side chin length, i'm tired of seeing that one.

If you want to continue to frame your face the way you have been i think the stylist would be able to suggest ways to change it up a little in the back.
There are lots of styles on line foryou to look at and i'm sure you could upload a pict of yourself and try some on.
Maybe a new color?
Have fun and i hope you feel fab when you come back from the hairdressers

Yes it's still in! I just had this same question for my hairstylist, she told me she does this cut all the time.

If you have been wearing this style for some time you should definitely try something new. Check out magazines or my favorite thing to do is get a wig cap and go to the wig store and try on different styles. When I find one I like, I snap a picture and take that picture to my stylist and let her get to work. There is no way only one style will fit your face. We just all have our own comfort levels.

I just always strive to keep it fresh and current.

My hair is baby fine and difficult to work with. I also have a high forehead and what looks like a receding hairline and a square jaw. My hair won't hold ponytail holders, barretts, bobby pins ect. I luckily found a hair style in 1979 that works for me and I haven't changed it. It's cut in layers and permed tight, lasts 3-4 months. My daughter has tried to talk me into changing my hairdo several times but this works for me.
If you want to change your do and find something that works for you, great. If not, don't let anyone say anything about your do being out of style.
"It's my thing -- get over it" is my response now.

I am by NO means a style expert!! I think it is still in style to have the back shorter than the front, but I think the front is now even rather than angled? That is what I have noticed anyway.

It's classic. I have had some variation on the bob (or pixie, back and forth) for years and there's always a little updating that a good stylist can do, but beware of the new fake shag trend. I got one and don't like it as much as the classic. But that's me. Tomorrow I'm going back to pixie, and can't wait!
