Is It Okay to Mystic Tan While Pregnant?

I haven't done it yet, but am really thinking about it. I figured since I'm not going to be breathing in anything anyway, it would be harmless. Any advice?

What can I do next?

sunless tanning is fine but I am not sure if mystic tan is sunless. Any over-the-counter sunless lotion or spray is fine according to my dr and everything i have read/heard!

My dr told me that sunless tanning was fine when I was pregnant, but I don't know if that included mystic tanning. I've heard all those same complaints about mystic. When I was pregnant, I used either Loreal or Neutrogena sunless tanning stuff from Wal Mart. It worked really well. Just make sure you wash your hands right after you finish (sometimes I stopped to rinse every so often). I never turned orange, and I never streaked, so I would recommend it.

I'm not sure if it would be worth it. You're hair is probably growing like crazy and so is your new skin, so even if you do tan, it'll slough off pretty quickly.

You should call your Doctor and see how he/she feels about it. I would hate to take any chances. Or you could probably find something on the net about it. Good Luck!

I did mistic tanning once and even though you arent sopost to breath (and I tried really hard not to) I still inhaled some. It also let me really streaky and orange looking. If I sweated it also kinda ran and stained my bras. I do the Jergens lotion with bronzer in it and its working well and its super cheap....not to mention it dosent really smell as bad as the other self tanners. It really moisturizes too!

Because Mystic Tan is so new, how could doctors be certain that it is safe to do while pregnant? My advice would be to avoid it and be on the safe side. Plus your skin is going through so many changes, you never know how it will react to a spray-on tan.

I think it would be safe. I actually found information that stated tanning beds are safe in moderation although I don't think I would be comfortable using them - better safe than sorry. You would obviously want to ask your doctor before you do anything though.

If your skin tone is already a bit darker you should be fine doing Mystic. I am fair skinned and did it once and it looked a bit orange on me. However, a friend of mine who is a bit darker naturally looked fantastic. It varies a lot from person to person.

Hi K.. I am not a medical professional, so I don't feel comfortable giving out medical advice on whether or not you should mystic tan. But, I highly recommend NOT doing it. You're going to laugh, but I did Mystic Tanning the day before my brother's wedding, in which I was a bridesmaid, and I was completely orange! I ruined all of their pictures because I looked like such a freak! It was really sad and pretty embarrassing!
I love being tan, but I hate skin cancer, so I'm always looking for ways to be "tan" without the sun. I represent Arbonne International, and we carry a product called "Made In the Shade" self-tanner with SPF 15. Now, I have been working a business with Arbonne for a year now, and I had not tried this particular product because I was scared that I would be orange! But, my friend who lives in Seattle, was telling me how much she loves this product, so I decided to give it a try. It's awesome! It's the absolute best self-tanner I have ever used, and I think I've tried most of them! If you're intersted, you can check out my website at: www.mandyolsen.myarbonne.com or www.arbonne.com. I'd be happy to let you try some for yourself too before you buy. Just let me know! Good luck!
Sincerely,
M. O.

Have you ever used mystic tan? I had a friend that was really disappointed in it because it was orangish and streaky.

Maybe there is a better sunless tanning cream or you could go have one applied.

I have no idea if the mystic tan, since you might inhale some of it, would be harmful. I definitely wouldn't do it until after your 25th week, when the baby is considered viable.

Good luck on your search!
