Ink on Leather

My 4 year old wrote the word Mom on my leather love seat in the living room. Soap and water failed. Leather cleaner failed. Alcohol will remove the ink, but it also takes the leather stain with it.

Suggestions?

I am so bloody mad about this. She has a chalk board, tons of pads of paper, etc. and I had just taken away an ink pen from her the other day. I expect something like this from a 2 year old, not a 4 year old!

Keep it!! Let the anger go and be so proud you have a healthy daughter who is alive and loves you and chose your name! After all the things that happen in the world, your daughter is safe and alive, she is yours hear on earth to touch and he and smile and scream at yet be proud she loves you and thinks of you. My daughter wrote her name on my car with a rock! Yes carved etched her name into the side of my car. I live in a snooty neighborhood where the other mothers flipped out and said they would have killed their child if they did that .(. Her older sister was teaching her how to write on the blacktop and side walk with sharp rocks and well she though how cool it would be on my car)! Well you know it's on my side of the car and I look at it every day. At first I was so mad about that and second look made me smile and laugh. I have a kid, she was very sick as a bay got down to three pounds at three months old. I lost a child had 7 miscarriages, I watch the news of kids on spring break and are missing and I bell g tithe blankety fairy for children with brain tumors. my neighbor lost her son at 7 years old due to a freak accident of a soccer goal landing in his head. I'm at an age all my friends are loosing their parents and yes. My friend are being diagnosed with cancer at an alarming rate. Hug that sweet. Hold of yours and be thankful you have her love in your heart and in writing at such a sweet innocent age. You are truly lucky in my book! Hang in there the anger will go away and smile will come I stead!
Love J.

I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this, but Bruce Makowski (maker of fabulous leather handbags) has said that baby powder of all things will clean stains and scuffs off of leather. I have never tried this but it doesn't sound like it would hurt!

well kids will do worse, soon enough. Not much can be done but I know they sell leather patch kits that have a type of paint that you can apply for marks. It covers up but not get rid of it. We had a leather recliner, my kids got at it with a Sharpie. Its what we did, its not overly noticeable, but if you mention it to someone that's looking at it, they will occasionally see that its a different shade or texture to the original piece.

I used a bit of comet and a rag to get sharpie off. It came right off with gentle scrubbing.
