I used to work in a laboratory and we used 100% alcohol to remove permanent marker and it works every time. If you don't have have 100% alcohol go buy some 200 proof alcohol. Good luck!
My lovely 2 yr old daughter found a black sharpie marker and decided to color on my leather sofa. How do I get this cleaned off without ruining my leather sofa?

Try using a cloth sprayed with everyday, typical hairspray. I have used it and it worked great.
My 3 year old daughter has done the same thing, but our leather couch is off-white. I had success with a little rubbing alcohol. I put it in a spray bottle and used it sparingly on the marker, then wiped it away with a white paper towel. Keep repeating until it's as gone as it's going to get, then wipe it down with a damp paper towel. You might try a little nail polish remover if the alcohol doesn't work, but it might take the color of your couch with it. What's really funny is when the kids color THEMSELVES with the Sharpie! Then, forget it! Nothing gets that off, but they sure do feel silly after doing it. My little girl hasn't done that twice!
Hey There!
I have a leather couch, and baby wipes worked well. If not try WD40! Good luck! M.

I had tried various cleaners on my sofa from a cheap pen mark from my son. If all else fails and it gets discolored call Leather Medic in Fort Myers. It may cost around $100 but he will make it look like nothing had been there and will be able to match the color. First try call the mnufacturer if you can and try all the cleaners out there before resorting to Leather Medic.

Using alcohol will not take off the sharpie because it is a permanent marker. It will take off the dye on your furniture. Also, magic eraser, wd-40 and other products will strip the top coat off your leather exposing the dye to being easily removed. I am a pro leather repair specialist. Look up www. F..com/T. or call ###-###-####. I serve the T. Bay area. Hope this helps.
try Goo-Gone or WD40! good luck!
Hairspray takes ink out of clothing really well, maybe it will work on leather as well. It is worth a try. Good luck, waiting to hear the outcome. F. in Clearwater
Try Mr. Clean magic eraser...but do a spot test first to make sure it doesnt discolor the leather
I would like to know if any of the advice given works. I have a "bomber jacket" leather sofa (brown and somewhat soft leather) and it has ink on 2 of the cushions. I was afraid to use anything that will affect the color and I was worried the Magic Eraser would be too abrasive since every little scratch shows on the leather.
Thanks!
there is a company, called guardsman....and they might have a product called ink lifter. When we bought our leather furniture from haverty's...I purchased the guardsman leather kit. Actually, I am very bad about using the cleaning kit but I do know that the ink lifter works...what color is the leather? Possibly soft scrub,?
I use the Magic Eraser, it will clean anything!
