Does anyone know how to get pen ink off of my couch? I can't get it out of my daughter's clothes and she was a little sneaky and wrote all over my couch recently. I know I can flip the cushion when company comes over but I would prefer to get it out permanently. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I agree with Kimmy. Hairspray does break up ink. Aerosol sprays have worked better for me in the past. Remove the cover of the cushion if you can so that the hairspray doesn't get stuck in the foam. You will have to clean up the hairspray when the ink is gone, and perhaps you could use an upholstery cleaner.
Good Luck!

L.,
I think I have heard that Resolve makes a furniture cleaner. Not really sure, but worth a try in finding out.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. My son got a hold of an ink pen and wrote all over my chair (and I couldn't switch the cushion). We put straight rubbing alcohol on the chair. It worked wonders! The alcohol is a solvent so it dissolves whatever is on top of it. Be sure and blot it don't rub it. We have a microfiber chair and it worked for us!

Blot it with hairspray. works wonders but does leave it very sticky so you need to ake some time to clean out the hairspray. And blot blot blot do not rub.

I am not postitive that it would work on couch cushions, but my mother (who was a nurse and always ended up with leaky pens in her pockets) used to buy somthing called stain devils. They came in a small yellow container and there is one specifically for ink. The directions are on the bottle, and it always took the ink right out of her scrubs when nothing else would. (if I remember correctly she bought them at Wal-Mart) Hope this helps.

I have had that problem and have used various things to get it out. One is the magic erasers (but test a small area to make sure it doesn't fade it.) I have also used a vinegar and baking soda compound. It is natural and one of the best stain removal methods for just about everything. I have also used stain devils which works most of the time. Never tried the hairspray thing but might do that next time!

Jennifer E. is so right about rubbing alcohol getting ink out. I have used it on my funiture for pen ink, walls in the high school for PERMANENT markers, etc. It works.

Also check out the book "Talking Dirty Laundry with the Queen of Clean", by Linda Cobb. There are some amazing things you can use to get many items you thought were lost to stains clean.
