So my situation is complicated. I used to live in Hollywood FL about 3 months ago we moved down to Pinecrest. Due to the terrible real estate market we haven't been able to sell our Hollywood house. For reasons more complicated then can be explained in this request we are moving back to Hollywood in March. I have no idea where to send my daughter to school. I really need you guys to help me by giving me any info on private or public schools in the area, even Ft. Lauderdale or towards miami beach are fine. I want her to go to a really great safe school that cares about the child's emotional well being as well as academic success (just as we all want for our kids). well PLS PLS PLS Help me!!!! Also, any play groups out there for 10 month olds would be great to hear about. Well thank you greatly ladies. I can't wait to hear back from all of you and finally be able to settle down at home and my daughter at school. All this moving back and forth is so stressful for the family! UGH! LOL.....
My son when he was 4 and i had just moved to Hollywood, I put him at Sheridan Hills Christian School, at Sheridan street. I loved, but now he is at Hollywod Academy Of arts and science, it is a charter school, start in Kindergatten. I have a friend that has his son at St Mark at Fillmore, she likes a lot. I like too.

I don't know much about schools for kids yet, but as far as playgroups go, I'd join MOMS Club if I were you - it brings SAHM's together who live close to one another. Go online to fins out more about it. Also, synagoguges & churchs might have Mommy & Me classes which also helps.

I can't offer advice on schools but to help you find "Mommy Groups" and as you are a SAHM maybe this will help...
At the Memorial Regional Fitness Center on Pines/95 at the Target shopping Center, they have Mommy & Me classes. I am sure that you can meet some Moms with children around your age.
Best of luck- I haven't been able to go because I work but I hear it is lots of fun for Moms and kids.

Hollywood Hills is a decent public school, and Hollwood Central has been pretty consistent with it's 'A' ratings. I currently send my daughter to Hollywood Christian Academy and I am very happy with the academics there not to mention it is not a large school so the classroom sizes are relatively small.
