Hello mamas!!

I was hoping some of you could help me find a good preschool for my 2-year-old son. I live on Peterson AFB and was hoping to find a good daycare/preschool nearby. I would love to find a clean and friendly environment that promotes education. Also, if anyone could give me any reviews on La Petite Academy??? Thank you so much!

What can I do next?

I know the Schriever CDC is great. They have a preschool curriculum that starts at age three. They have been talking about starting a kindergarden there as well.
The only problem may be the waiting list.

have you tried the on base preschool? I've heard that it was pretty good. Hope Academy on Stetson Hills is good but not cheap.

Hello! You might consider checking with the Child Development Center or Youth Center there on the base if you haven't already. They usually offer the services you are wanting or can refer you. Also, my son was in La Petite when he was 2 and loved it; so did I! They are very good with the children there and cater to the needs of each child. My son was having alot of trouble with potty training and they were a big help in that department. They teach the children many different skills and manners as well as some academics. My son really loved it there and I would refer them to anybody. He attended the one off of Jet Wing, but they have other location in town as well. Good luck finding what you're looking for. My husband and I are on the housing waiting list for Peterson and are hoping to move there withing 2-3 months. Maybe we'll run into each other. Anyway, good luck to ya,

Did you know there is a preschool on base at the youth center? (Although, I have to say, I tried it and wasn't impressed.) I know it's not close, but the USAFA's PDE is an awesome program! They even have their own building!! But, I think your child needs to be 3 to enter their programs, although they do have hourly care at the PDE for 1 and over.

My daughter is now going to public school preschool.

I've heard the Catholic church on N. Carefree and Oro Blanco has a great preschool.

As for getting together with kids your child's own age, let me know if you would like to get together sometime. I have a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old.

Have you looked into the CDC on base? All three of my children have spent time there have outstanding social and educational skills learned from that environment.
