Hello,
have been shaving for years but, this time I have gotten inflammed hair follicles that are really irrating and inflammed. Has anyone had this problem and if so what to do withoout scratching yourself crazy. Does this need a doctor or can it be solved locally?

When is the last time you replaced the razor blade insert? Last time I got inflamed leg hairs, I changed the razor to cut out the possibility of bacteria and/or rust.

You might have to forego shaving few a few days, just until the pores calm down. Also, use a antibacterial soap like dial. And take some tylonal to help distract your sensitivity and itchiness.

My husband had this problem on his face just recently. His doctor told him it was "Folliculitis" and prescribed an antibiotic which cleared it up in just a couple of days.

Good luck,

Whenever I buy a new bottle of lotion, I mix into it some tea tree oil and sesame oil. (I, also, moisturize with vitamin e oil straight from the gelcaps.) I use hair conditioner to shave; then I moisturize with my "potion". The tea tree is a natural antiseptic. Without knowing just what your situation looks like, I would pour some tea tree onto an abrasive towel and scrub the area. If there are infected bumps that you need to address specifically, open them and then apply the tea tree. Be careful to always clean your razor and give your skin a break sometimes from shaving.

I've had this problem since I was 8 years old and just 2 weeks ago a doctor addressed the issue. She gave me clydomycin (spelling?) antibiotic cream to put on it and 30 days of antibiotics to swallow. I have a pretty severe case, and it sounds like yours probably isn't that bad. you may want to try some baby butt cream with antibiotic or triple antibiotic ointment. The best thing is to not put scented stuff or deodorant on it because that could clog pores and make it worse. Good Luck.
