Fenton Rec. Center and Arnold Rec. Center both have pools. Arnold's is really cool b/c they have a fun area for kids to play in the pool w/ a water slide (one for little kids and one for big kids)...lots of fun!
does anyone know if there are any indoor water parks or indoor swimming pools in the Saint Louis area? My four year old son has been asking me for weeks now, and I am not certain on where to take him. Thanks, so much.

We like to go to the Arnold Rec Center. It is a lot of fun...I also used to really like Riverchase in Fenton, but the water is a little cooler. Both would be a lot of fun for a 4 y/o
The Pointe in Ballwin has an indoor water park and is open to non residents of Ballwin. It is very nice and I take my granddaughters there almost every week.

I know that most YMCAs have indoor pools, but they aren't as designed for 'playing.' If you are close to Richmond Heights, their Rec Center (called the Heights) has an indoor pool with a good-sized area that would be appropriate and fun for a four year old. If you are not a member of the Heights you can buy a day pass.
Most YMCAs have indoor pools. I don't know where you are located but The Heights in Richmonds Heights has a great facility with a toddler area. The toddler area includes a graduated entry, bubbler fountains, and slide. We are members of The Heights, even though we live in the city, and my sons L.O.V.E. going there weekly.
My daughter and I love going to the Clayton Rec Center. Their indoor leisure pool has a small lazy river, whirlpool, and slide. They also have some of those water contraptions that spill out and shoot water in the wading section. It is not cheap to go there, but they do allow nonresidents. Day pass for adults is $10, for kids $7.
The Des Peres Lodge also has an indoor pool with one big slide (I don't know what the conditions for going down it are - height limits?). Their indoor pool can make waves which they only do on the weekends (Friday night, Sat and Sun). Des Peres Lodge is less expensive. Nonresident day pass is $7 for adults, $5 for kids.
You can check both of these venues by going online. Just google Clayton Recreation Center or Des Peres Lodge and you will get to the site that can give you the information you need for times when they are open, etc. I have found that, generally, there are no daytime free swims at either place with perhaps an exception for one "play day" for moms and young ones like yours. But check it out and see.
I do know that just about every community in the St. Louis area has some kind of community center/water park type facility; but, not all of them have something indoors.
Most of the YMCA's in the area have indoor pools - the Edward Jones YMCA in maryland heights has a GREAT kid area in the pool - we just had my son's 6th birthday there and it was fantastic...the Y in Chesterfield also has an indoor pool as does the one on Kingshighway. I THINK you can pay for a one time visit or check into a membership!
There is also one in Fenton called Riverchase run by the City and one run by the City of Des Peres called The Lodge. Nonresidents can use both but have to pay a little more.
Hi there,
Whispering Hills off of Ross Road is a very nice complex where I would take my children for swim lessons years ago. They have redone the whole complex...

Ballwin has an indoor pool called the Pointe. It is off of Manchester.

The Edward Jones YMCA in Maryland Heights has a wonderful water park (the slide is a lot of fun!). You are welcome to use it two times/year if you aren't a member, just bring a photo id (I work at the front desk there). Membership is $72/month/family w/ a $49 joining fee. Other Y's have indoor pools but everyone says ours is the best. The Y was open in 1999 so it is a fairly new facility. You can check out the website at www.ymcastlouis.org/edwardjones
There is one at the Heights in Richmond Heights--8001 Dale Avenue, 63117 ph. ###-###-####.
I have to pipe in and also say that the Richmond Heights indoor water park is GRREAT especially for little ones. The water isn't that deep and is really made for just playing around.

There is a pool in Fenton, MO called Riverchase (just about 10 minutes outside of St. Louis). There is also an indoor water park in Arnold, MO off Arnold Church Road. Both places are in the phone book and are fairly inexpensive and well worth the drive!
Not sure what part of St. Louis you are located, but in high school and college I worked at the Bellefontaine Rec Center as a lifegaurd and swim instructor. The indoor pool has a low depth of 3 feet and has tons of classes for swimming lessons for all ages and levels.
"The Point" in Ballin has an indoor water park and
"Des Peres Lodge" has a toddler time that is open to the public. Just call and they can give you the days that they have it(:
The Lodge in Des Peres. I don't know if you have to have a membership or not though.
I used to take my son to the Heights in Richmond Heights. They have a great indoor pool, slide, etc. You don't have to be a member to go, but there is a fee. The water and the air are nice and warm :)
This is a really nice one. My kids and I love it!
