Places to Have 6Yrold party---I Live in an Apt. in St. Louis

I need ideas for a party for my soon to be 6 year old daughter. She has already done ChuckECheese, bowling, and skating. I like places that would allow me to bring in food (at least a cake). We usually have a lot of adults attend, too. Our family has had a really rough time these last few months and I would like to plan something really fun.

What can I do next?

We had a great time @ the carousel museum in Leavenworth! Their party room is more geared to kiddos, but we had lots of adults there - and riding the carousel - too! It's a great party place if you're going to have a range of ages in the kids, too. :) The people there are super nice, and you do bring with you anything you want to serve. I can't remember the website - just google Leavenworth carousel museum & you'll get it, though.

My daughter works at The Pointe in Ballwin and they have an indoor pool and have rooms you can rent. The cost was reasonable and you can bring in whatever food you want. If you have enough people using the pool you can get a discount or they do have a birthday party package also. Rooms are very nice and large and the kids loved the pool. Also Des Peres has an indoor pool but don't know what they charge. Good luck.

Does you local community center have an indoor pool? Have a pool party with a luau theme. Or check the YMCA, we've been to pool parties in the dead of winter in both of these venues and they have been fun and are usually inexpensive. Or you can do iceskating, like Line Creek Ice Rink, always fun. Hope this helps some. Good luck and God Bless and Happy New Year.

depending on your budget, you might find these fun - dave n busters, power play, or monkey bizness in the great mall. all are tons of fun, just have to google them and give them a call. we got a gift card to dave n busters for christmas and my three year old was in heaven for three hours. good luck and happy birthday!

We have done an indoor water park or pool. Look at the different municipality web sites. Most allow you to bring your own food and it is fun this time of year since kids have not been swimming since the summer. Most let you swim as long as you like while reserving a room for cake and presents for about an hour. Good luck.

Don't know where you live, but Elite Gymnastics has two warm swimming pools with slides and an upstairs party room. Or you can have the kids do the gymnastics side of things. You can bring your own food and decorations. We did this when my daughter was about your son's age. Elite is located at 108th & Pflumm in Overland Park.

The City Musuem does birthday parties- private room, they do a pizza buffet included in the price and then your guests can tour the museum for as long as they like.

The indoor carousel in Faust Park in Chesterfield rents out for parties. You can bring in food. The rental includes free carousel rides for a certain number of guests (wrist bands) for the length of the party.

Incredible Pizza off of South Lindbergh is a fun place for parties too. A lot like a small Dave and Busters. Has bumper cars, mini golf, bowling, carnival games.

Not sure if it is still there, but there was a place called Party Time on Watson that had bouncy things and arcade games. You can bring in food, and there is a small party area.

You said you have done a skating party, have you done a roller skating party? There are still a few rinks around the St. Louis area. Good luck!

Does your church have a fellowship hall? Most churches will let members use a meeting room and kitchen if they ask. If you don't have a church, maybe a community building. The community building will probably cost, but if you supply the food/cake it may even out compared to Chucky Cheese.

I am not sure where in St. Louis you live but I know that Monkey Joe's off Watson does b-day parties. You can also have b-day parties at River Chase in Fenton. They have several different indoor pools. I know that they will let non residents rent a room for birthday parties and let you swim as well. you can go to www.fentonmo.org and click on River Chase on the left to learn more. Not sure of the cost. My daughter took swim leasons there 2 summers ago. They did end up closing the indoor pools for lightening as well as the outdoor pools but this time of year we hardly ever get lightning. I would stay away from renting a hotel room with an indoor pool, the hotels can be very strict as to whom is swimming and will not allow any food in the swimming area. Also what about the Magic House, again not sure of the cost to do a party there. One of the other parties that we attended last year was for the Little Gym. I know that the parent had to bring in the cake and there was no food at the party but the cake. The kids all had a good time. However it was a little too much for me to think of doing for my daughter.

Have you checked out some of the gymnastic places in your area? Some of those do parties and many have have the big blow up slide things. I know that they have one in the Chesterfield Valley that they do let you bing in food, but the price for the party is high. There in one in Union (a little of a drive for you!) that has a really good deal. Also, some salons do a dress up thing for the girls. I think we're going to do that for my daughter this year, she'll turn 7 this summer. Good luck and God Bless!!

A couple other places we've had our daughter's birthday are Burger King, and our community center - we can have either have an indoor swimming party or reserve one of their party rooms and plan our own games, bring our own snacks/food/cake/etc. Hope you get some good ideas, and good luck! :)

The Sylvester Powell Community Center has an indoor pool with a small lazy river and a large water slide. It is fully staffed with lifeguards and you get a "party room" for pizza, cake, etc. The grown ups can have fun around the pool (there are plenty of chairs).

For something different, you may want to try Pottery Playland or Paint Glaze and Fire and have the kids make something. Both have party packages that are reasonable. Or Michaels craft stores offer party packages too.

Have fun!

You could try Bounce U or Monkey Joe's. We had my 6 yr old's party at Monkey Joe's and they all had a blast. It is a little more expensive than Bounce U though. We also did his 5th party at The Magic House - it's really not that expensive and they can stay at the Museum all day and there's a party room. Just some ideas...

We have gone to Miss Maria's Dance and Acrobat studio twice (and I have boys!) They have a smaller but very well-organized gymnastics room to play in, and a side "party room" to bring in your own food and cake. I liked it because it was very reasonable compared to other "acrobat" places--$75--and after a rough year of our own, I was on a tight budget. The kids had a blast and the instructors do everything while in the play room! Good luck and have a great day.
