In Need of Part Time Care

I am possibly looking for part time care for my son. He is coming into this world in October and I am not sure if my husband and I can afford to lose my salary. We are concerned about our financial situation and if I choose to go back to work, I would do it part time. Is there any part time day cares or child care services out there??

What can I do next?

Hi T.,
If you can not find a day-care or something that can suit your time schedual. I might be looking for some part-time work around that time. My daughter just started kindergarten 5-days a week. (8:15 to 3:15)and my son will be 4 soon and he is going to PK-3 for 3 days a week; starting next week. I am a stay at home mom. I live in Seabrook and my husband is a pilot for Southwest. So we have a very flexibal schedual that never stays the same. You can just e-mail me if you want to. ____@____.com

Go to Initiativesforchildren.org
It's a free Houston-area service that can help you find child care to fit your criteria. It's how I found part-time care for my kids.

My step son goes to School Zone on 518 right off 45 and they are wonderful. I know they do accept little ones and I'm almost positive about part time. Like I said, the people are great. Mr. Rex is the owner and he has a great staff working for him. My step son is 7 and his neightbors at his Mom's house are 9 months and 8 and they both go there as well. My brother's wife's younger sister is a teacher there as well. I totally recommend them!

My husband and I lived in South Shore when we had our son (who's now 2 1/2). I didn't go back to work right away, but found that I needed some time away to go to the doctor, run errends, etc. without an infant in tow. I looked into mother's day out and in home care, but eventually decided that I would look at part-time day care. There are actually quite a few places that offer 2 day a week programs at a reasonable cost. Gimme A Break on Egret Bay has been highly recommended to me and I think is also on this website. We live in Friendswood now and the Kandiland daycare (owned by the smae folks who own the daycare out there) is great. Hope this helps some.
