I take my daughter to Raleigh Peds, but am just not satisfied with them. It is too big of a practice for me, we are left waiting for an hour, the nurses and Dr had no idea why we were there, even though they called us in -i've just had a horrible experience with them. can anyone recommend a good pediatrician? preferably a small practice. i'd really appreciate it!

What can I do next?

We go to Capitol Peds. -- they have an office in Wakefield and in Raleigh -- they are also open weekends - Sat and Sun AM - I am not saying that you won't have to wait sometimes for your appointment...but we have not had to wait repeatedly. There a few doctors I am not particulary fond of, but most we have seen are great. I was in PA when my daughter had to go to the emergency room and they were very helpful and repsonive from here when I needed some advice...

A.,
I just LOVE Sunrise Pediatrics! http://www.sunrisepediatrics.com/
Dr. Fennell is our primary physician there but I really like all of the doctors. I have had to call them at all hours of the day and night when traveling with sick children and they are so helpful and nice. Dr. Fennell has called me at night many times to see how things are going after an office visit when one of my kids had something "big" going on. I would highly recommend them. Please let me know if you try them.
Good luck,
K.

We go to growing Child Peds but the one in Raleigh off Sawmill for the last 3 years. We recently started going tot eh one in Brier Creek ad are still happy. I can get an appointment relatively easy and my wait is nothing like at the dentist.

I love Blue Ridge Pediatrics. They are even open on Saturdays and on Sundays for emergencies. Dr. Allen is awesome!

We go to Oberlin Rd Pediatrics. THe practice is in an older building. It has been around for awhile. There are6 full-time drs and one part-time. They actually just added a new doctor. I LOVE this office! The doctor's take time with you and the nurses are fabulous. We see Dr. Stewart mostly. She happened to be a friend of my brother in law who is a pediatrician and he recommended her. We have seen a few of the other doctors for sick visits and have never had a problem with them. Oberlin also provides after hour sick appt from like 5-7 or 8 I think and then Saturday mornings and Sunday mornings. My son always seems to get sick on the weekend so we have gone in a few times on the weekend. They have a website you can look at. Just google oberlin rd pediatrics and it should come up.
Hope you find somewhere you like!

Hi,

I cannot give advice on this. But I can say we go to Growing Child Ped. in WF and have the same problems! I was in there one week b/c my baby was sick- the next week we were there for her 1yr check up, had the same Dr. and he had no idea who we were. That really pisses me off. Not to mention the ladies at the front desk are rude.

I am looking forward to people posting some good ones!
