I'm looking for playgroups in my general area. My daughter is staying home with me, at least for now, and we both are in need of socialization. She's three, but will get along with children from 2 to 5. If no one knows of such a thing in existance in the Wilkes barre/Pocono/ Scranton area, then is anyone interested in starting one??

My little boy is 16 months old and I have a hectic schedule. He goes to daycare M-F and seems to do well with other children. I would love to be able to meet other moms as well. Most of the time, I have my mom to talk to about my little boy, but it is hard to talk to others about my little boy without getting the eye rolling.
I'm in Scranton and I'd be interested, too. With the cool weather coming, I can't think of many places to go. Steamtown Mall food court, which has a playground thing, Wegmans in Dickson City has a play area in the cafe, and the children's section of Borders are our hangouts. ;) I haven't ventured into the McDonalds playgrounds or Chuck E Cheese yet. Mine's only 20 months so she's just starting to figure out being social. I'm always up for a weekday morning hangout at Wegmans though. DH accuses me of being addicted, lol.
Hi I'm R. & I'm a stay at home mom to a beautiful 10 month old son. I've been feeling like I have cabin fever or something. I live in North Scranton & to add to all of it I don't drive. Long story short ,when I was with my ex before my now husband he wouldn't let me go get it. But I would love to meet other moms in the area to get together with.
im not sure what your financual situation is but there is a gymbori in wilkes-barre. its in the plaza across from the old knex factory. kinda cady corner from the woodlands. hope that helps you some.

I'm a sahm to my two little ones. well, not so little any more. lol Bethany is 3, and Gabriel just turned 7 this month. we homeschool, so getting out is always a big plus! Bethany would love to meet some little girls to play with. :)
Hello, I too am looking for playgroups. I work full time dayshift (7-330) and my grandmother watches my son. So, I am looking for some social interaction for my son with other children. He is 2. He gets along well with other kids. I live in Nanticoke. Let me know if anyone is starting one.

I just posted a request for playgroups, also....we're a little bit younger than 2yrs; only 8months old here, and we're 2 for 1! (Twin boy and girl.) Wondering what you had in mind...my daughter is already a lot of fun and very interactive, son tends to be cozy and more observant. Maybe our girls would get along? Post back if you'd like to give it a try, or if you'd just like to get out and get some fresh air!
I don't really know of any playgroups. I know there are mommy and me classes at the Arons Center and the JCC (Jewish Community Center). My little guy is only 5 months old (almost 6, Oct.8) or I'd be happy to start a play group with you. I still will if you're interested. I totally understand the need for socialization. I work 3-11 at St. Josephs Center, so it's just him and I until I take him to his grandparents at 2:30 and head to work. I'm worried that he's not spending enough time with other little ones. I just wanted to let you know of another very helpful site for meeting other mommies which also has a few playgroups listed. I've met two other moms that my son and I get together with that live very close to our area and who have children very close to his age. It's very easy to use...you submit your information (first name, birthdate, child's birthdate, zipcode, etc) and in a matter of seconds you can find a
list of other mom's in your area or closeby. I found it very useful,, so I hope this site works for you as well as it did for me :) The website address is www.matchingmoms.org
