Hi ladies,
I need some feedback on Ikea products, I have never been but am thinking about going!!
I have been a few times. The prices are great and there are some really neat products. It is a big store, so plan on spending some time there.
We love going just because it's a fun place. We bought our leather couch there on Christmas Eve and have had no problems with it at all! It's not the highest grade leather, but I didn't pay a high price for it either, so I'm not expecting that. It's like anywhere else, pay attention to what you're buying before you buy it.
I love Ikea! We have bought nearly all our living room furniture and bedroom accessories there. Everything is holding up very well. Don't let the prices scare you into thinking that it's not quality products. We bought our coffee table there for $25 a year ago. We have a two year old, so didn't want to buy expensive furniture. It has held up to all the wear and tear of being climbed on, having toys thrown at it, and other rough playing from my boy. It has gotten a few scratches on it, but hey for only $25 it's no big deal cause we can just go buy another one! You definitely need to go check it out! It will blow your mind.
I guess I have a different take on IKEA. I think that they are great for things like accessory items, however I am not AT ALL impressed with the quality of their furniture. I have had friends who bought couches and coucheskids beds that basically fell apart after only several months of normal use. I think you have to be very careful and realistic about what types of products you buy from there. My friends who bought their kids beds there tried to get them to repair or replace the beds with no avail. They definitely did not stand behind their product, which would make me weary. Even though they are much less expensive, you have to wonder how much you save if you have to turn around and replace it several months or a year later? Sometimes you really get what you pay for.
I love Ikea. I have purchase ton of there items. There pricing and quality are great.
I am a big fan of IKEA. We have several pieces from them. My son has a full size IKEA bed and it has held up wonderfully. I do think that some of the bigger ticket items seem to be a little too much money for the quality. We have never bought children's furniture from them because it seems a little shaky. Most things they have built for you to see, so shake them, sit on them and see how you feel. As for them not standing by their products, you do have to fight. We had four chair covers that shrunk in the wash and they didn't want to do anything about it at the Frisco store becaseu more than 6 months had passed (even though I had no need to wash them within 6 months). I wrote the president of IKEA USA and I received 8 new covers (only needed 4) within 2 weeks. Overall we have been really happy.
I have an Ikea TV stand and it is really nice and sturdy. They have a play area and a cafeteria that is pretty good.
I think some of the items are great quality and sturdy, others are more of a temporary furniture piece (for instance, some couches are great and last, but my friend's looks run down after several months). But for the most part, great stuff and fun (and huge store!)
Love It!!!!! Make sure you have plenty of time to browse & have a fun. We have a ton of little things & our couch is from there. It has held up well and love the fact that it is slipcovered (extremely fitted & looks good) so very easy to wash.
