I just exchanged messages with Jacob. I found I've been using mamapedia in the same old way, that mamapedia has expanded and is having amother company to manage their IT stuff. There is a new home page that seems to be easier for me to use. It has an option for contacting mamapedia. That connection could work better than a message to the moderator.
Even more important to me, is a blog on which changes are explained. I ac
essed it by googling www.mamapedia/blog. After a quick read, I see that mamapedia began some major changes in 2015. The blog is informative.I knew about some changes but not about others.
I rarely use blogs. For the ones I've read, I responded to a blog address posted on a Web site. From the mamapedia Home site I asked if access the blog could be added to the menu. I feel much better now that I know more. I'll be more proactive in using mamapedia's whole site, especially the blog.
**************
I have serious difficulty using the site because of all the pop up adds. This sight has become a suport group for me. I'm parenting my 16 yo grandaughter. Being able to share what I've learned over the many years of my life helps increase my confidence. Knowing there are moms who do care helps me feel less alone. Putting my thoughts about posts, in writing, helps me to continue thinking about ways to help with my granddaughter. Earlier this site was a small part in helping me get along with my adult daughter.
I've struggled with the pop up ads. In the last few days, I've realized that if I wait for the ad to be finished, I have less trouble. I recognize that pop ups on other sights don't frustrate me because I'm only reading. On this site, I am wanting to interact. It is difficult to wait. I'm starting to be more patient. I am patient when I'm a part of the process. These multiple ads, especially the pop ups, we're dumped on us without even being told it would be happening. My attitude has changed after I texted the moderator and am seeing some changes. I think the one line pop ups that appear while i'm typing are less intrusive. Thank you mamapedia.
There are still things to be worked out and I now feel I'm a part of the process. I'm now able to work on ways of using the site that work for me. I focus on posts. I never click to open an advertising site because I'm not yet comfortable with the ads. I am just working on being patient while mamapedia and me deal with ads. I know the ads are necessary. This site has to have enough money to keep it running. Ads are a big part of keeping the site on line.
Consider if the benefits of the site are worth staying here. Also consider that mamapedia's IT people continue to develop the ways that will make using it and paying for it helpful. Change is hard.
