For the girl I would request Little Pet Shop I have a daughter who is 3 and she loves them. For the boy legos.

Tis' the season......my son just got two invites today to birthday parties this month. One for a girl turning 4 (girl) and another for a boy turning 3 (boy). Does anyone have any unique gift ideas for either child. I kinda would prefer to stay away from the staple gift card idea and fisher price gadget toy. Any suggestions for what this aged child would prefer and "love" would be most helpful.
Thanks!!

For the 4 year old girl, Little Pet Shop stuff is the hot thing! Also, Fashion Polly's are always a hit!
For the boy I would suggest Legos or Magnetix!
Good luck!

We bought my youngest daughter a tea party set and she still plays with it every day. I've never gone wrong with a soccer ball or a car with a boy.

This might not be a fun idea for the child but the mom will appreaciate it. I like to go to Pottery Barn Kids (online) and order a beach towel with their name embroidered on it (they have toddler sizes which are smaller) - depending on what you want to spend.
Good luck!

My kids love our Air Hog rocket. It's a rocket that is made for younger kids where they just stomp/jump on a "pad" that sends it flying. I think both boys and girls love this since both come to play with it whenever we take it to the park. It's only $9.99 at Target and you can buy replacement rockets.
How about personalized music or story book cd's for children.

My son turned 3 in October, so we have been to a bunch of 3 year old boy parties. Here a few toys my son has and actually plays with:
1) Medical kit
2) Vet kit
3) "Melissa & Doug" wooden puzzles (they come 4 to a box)
4) "Alex" brand play dough tools - this comes in a wooden box too
I know my daughter likes to play outside and its so nice lately that you can put together a basket of fun outdoors things...like chalk..bubble..a kites...gardening things....sanbox toys.....They have some of it at the $ store too right now ($ Tree). Also anything arts/crafty they is alwys a hit...color books...paint...molding clay...stickers...We got our daugher that just turned 4 in Feb the Aquadoodle Mat..Target has them..you can piece it together anyway your want and you color on it w/ a marker that holds water and then it dries again to color..She loves it...there are puzzle pieces around the outside you can pop out and trace around..those somehow become food for her little kitchen and other various things too. Also a pop up tent would be fun b/c they can take that outside and it can be a clubhouse too. (Target had a cute princess one for $20 that I got my daughter). The big buliding Legos blocks are also always a hit when we have kiddos over they all want to play those. Well hope that helps some....good luck!
My daughter is 4 and her favorite things to do are dressing up, playing veterinarian, reading/looking at books, singing and coloring. So my suggestions are some kind of dress-up/imaginiation gift, books, arts & crafts stuff or a play microphone or music. Good Luck!
