I'm looking for some ideas, so put on your thinking caps! Each year our early learning center hosts a festival of sorts for kids called "kidstock". It's outdoors and we charge one price for entry and then once on the grounds everything is included. We do pony rides, climbing walls, inflatables, bubbles, face painting, things like that. This year we're looking for some new ideas to keep it exciting. Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone been to a kids festival and saw something that was really cool? Keep in mind, we don't want to have to charge $$ for it so no silent auctions, tricky trays etc. I would love to hear any ideas you may have! Thanks for your help.

Hi! How about a dunk tank? Well, kind of... It's more of a reverse dunk tank. My husband built it for his archery class kids and if can be used indoors or out. The general idea is there is a target to throw at and it is on an arm overhead and a basket with a water balloon. The arm has a pin. If they hit the target the pin pops the balloon and the person sitting under it gets wet. To use inside the person sits in one of those little hard-sided pools. I'm sorry, I know I;m not being clear. I'm really hear waiting t hear how my DD is, she's at the ER at Mass General. Do you need craft and game ideas too?

when my mom used to work at a nursery school and they would have their little summer carnival type thing they used to do sand bottles.. they would get all different colored bags of sand (you can get them at arts n crafts stores) and all different shaped plastic bottles and the kids get to pour in all the colors they want the way the colors stack up on eachother its like a little rainbow in a bottle ... they also used to have ice cream sundae making the kids would get a scoop of chocolate vanilla or strawberry in a dish and then they would put out bowls of all different kinds of toppings and the kids could make it themselves .. it was a little messy but the kids loved it

how about balloon popping or stomping? I was thinking of anything water or ice cream too but I see that is already mentioned! How about having the local fire dept visit with a firetruck and talk about safety? Or maybe having a clown walk around and make funny balloon creatures? Have fun!

Henna

A lot of these and more are things that parents may do and volunteer, or that local businesses may do in order to market themselves

okay, let's back up! What's wrong with a silent auction? If you make it a "white elephant silent auction"...using gently used or new donated items....then you wouldn't have to raise the entry fee.

I guess I'm confused....is this Kidstock used as a "fun" time or as a "fundraiser" for the center? That would make the difference in how we present our ideas! Need more info, please!
