Hello,
I am currently the Special Events Volunteer Coordinator at a private school and I have been brain storming for weeks now on trying to come up with an event that is family friendly from K-6th grade. In the past the school has participated in CoCo Keys, YMCA, and dinners. I am now seeking further for any ideas you may have that has gained a large outcome. Thanks much in advance!

What can I do next?

Do a school "Field Day" and BBQ. Play three legged races and such.

Do a school carnival-rides, games, food, bouncy castles and slides, etc. Silent auction items at the same time-start asking for donations for the auction months in advance, though.

Our school has a " School Name BASH" on a Saturday in March as a family fun day and fundraiser for the school. Each classroom makes a basket (donated items) and there is a silent basket auction in the cafeteria, there are concession stands outside selling burgers, snow cones, drinks etc, and several classes have arcade style games set up. Everyone buys an armband for like $5 to participate in all of the games, and then there are a couple of "shows" in the auditorium - Mad Science, a Magician, a reptile exhibit etc... Lots of fun and everyone participates. Good luck!

We did a family kickball tournament and picnic at the school where I used to work. It was great b/c you don't need to be overly athletic to play and it got the families and faculty all involved!

School carnival, picnic style. School can provide as little as desserts/beverage, or go all out and cater. Music, dunk tank (dunk the teachers!) water balloon toss, carnival rides if you want to go all out, bouncy house, volleyball tournaments, K/1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6, teachers vs parents, field games like 3 legged race, etc Older kids can help run some little kid games. If you can pick a day/evening that isn't likely to be taken up by spring rec sports. I know we miss a lot of older kids at the end of year picnic because they are busy with soccer, baseball games, etc.
