Doesn't sound like you need to schedule anything. They will have a ball just playing. Maybe have a movie as a back-up, other than that, sit back and watch.
With Daddy and the boys off camping this weekend, we thought it would be a good time for the sleepover my daughter's been dying to have.
It's this Friday so I'm a little late on the planning, but so far the schedule is Pizza for dinner and bringing out the Karaoke machine, then maybe homemade shakes, but other then that...
I know I'm a total procrastinator, but I guess I figured they'd just have fun playing with each other. I'm expecting 6-8 girls.
It's not like they'll come to me bored right?

It is always fun to paint those little fingers and toes and play games like don't eat Pete. Six year olds will sometimes get bored and they will come to you. Are you ordering pizza? I did this kind of party and the girls made their own mini pizzas with english muffins.. They also decorated their own cupcakes. Hope things go well.
You can set up different "booths" around your house so they can do their nails, hair, dress-up, etc.
You can make a sign for each area on the computer and tape them to the walls. The girls will probably choose which area they want to go to and they can help each other do their hair, nails, etc. If you don't have stuff on hand, then just choose booths based on what you do have.
Once they are all dressed up, take a picture of them in front of a sheet that is hung on the wall. Send the pictures home with them or have your daughter take them to school next week once you have a chance to print them. We pretty much did this at every slumber party I went to when I was young and I have many fond memories and still look at the pictures and how silly we were. I can't wait to do this with my daughter-Have Fun!
We are having one this Saturday!!! We are playing the cotton ball game, and the clothes pin game, and push the ball with your nose. The cotton ball game...blindfolded, try to scoop up cotton balls with a ladle or spoon, put into a bowl, and who ever gets the most, can get a prize.
Clothes pin game, each player gets a certain amount of pins... every time someone crosses their arms, legs, ankles, etc, and someone sees them, they grab a clothes pin off of the person. Set a time...maybe before bed...that whoever has the most clothes pins can win a prize!/ We are doing pedicures. I got a pedicure set for each girl at the 99 cents store. I also got a pack of cat toys...the balls with bells in them, and they will have to push those to a finish line with their noses. You can get 5 or six different baby foods and see who can guess what kind it is (yes, they have to taste it...take the labels off!!) Two truths and one lie. Someone tells 3 things about themselves and the others have to guess which one is the lie. Memory tray. Pass a tray around with 12 objects on it. Take it out of the room and Have the kids try to remember what was on the tray.
Hope these ideas help. There are soooo many different things to do...crafts, baking etc, tooo. We are going to make butter and use it in the morning on our pancakes...it's easy too. A jar, whipping cream, salt, and shaking power!!! It can take up to 10 mins to shake it, but, they all can take turns!!
another idea i dont know if anyone has said or not but they can have a time to do each others hair and if you're really brave their nails too.ya know girly things.
What a grand idea! HOw about some "beauty shop" time? The girls can take turns being the hair and makeup artists. Perhaps you might want to get in on the action too! Dollar stores offer lots of makeup and hair things for a buck, so each girl can even take something home.
Get some socks, old or new, add some felt pieces and wiggle eyes, and let the girls make some puppets. They can then present a theater with their puppets and have the puppet to take home, too. Even small paper bags work for puppets, too.
Either or both of these activities can use up an hour or two or more! Have fun!
Make sure you hit the video store and pick up Hanna Montana/HIgh School Musical/ whatever your daughter is really into, her friends probly are crazy about the same themes. I did that for my daughter's 8th b-day, she got some videos as gifts as well so that helped. In case there's a lul in the excitement/activities area. Another idea might be to go through all of your make-up and pick out the colors you really don't use or like or are almost used up and ask the others girls' mothers to do the same so you can do make-overs...even my 2 yr old daughter loves to play make-up. You can do themes like, look like an alien or a punk rocker or a glamor girl. Barbie.com has party ideas as well. Good luck and don't worry about your sanity during the party...it will come back eventually! :D
6-yr olds LOVE nail polish! Do fingernails and toenails! They will love it!
You've been given a lot of great ideas by other posters, I've noticed, but I'd like to add a caution, born of personal experience. Personally, I think you were on the right track from the get-go: keeping things fairly simple. Pizza & karaoke sound fun and 6 yr old girls are expert at making their own entertainment when they get together anyway. If this is not a special occasion, like a birthday, and you get fancier (especially at her age), you may find yourself expected to produce more and more elaborate parties for your child(ren). That's exactly what happened to me. I got very creative with themed birthday parties for my kids (it started out being really fun to do that) and now every year they expect a huge (and huger by the year) production. Now that I have a baby, I don't have as much time to devote to big fancy parties and we've had to diffuse some snarkiness when the kids (now aged 13 & 11) don't get a big production. It's fun to give your kids a special party, and I think you should. I'm just saying to keep it simple.
A fun craft or games would be good. Dress up clothing, too.
The only thing I might add is giving them pedicures. Girls that age just love that. You can get pedicure buckets at the dollar store and then Mary kay or Bath and Body have nice pedicure kits for more than one. Also I believe that target and Walmart both have pedicures in a bucket. Have lots of fun.
get some kid friendly nail polish colors and let them give eachother manicures and pedicures. Usually you can find cute little girl type mani and pedi sets at places like Walmart and Walgreens and then each girl can have a set to take home with her, or go the cheaper route and buy 1 bottle of remover, 1 bag of cottonballs, 1 thing of qtips, a couple cheap (dollar store) bottles of polish, and a cheap package of cardboard files and let them go. Just put them on a hard surfaced floor, or flatten down some cardboard boxes for them to use to protect your carpet. My daughters are 5 and 3 and they can use the nail polish pretty good, so I don't see why 6 year olds wouldn't be able too.
My daughter and her friends always liked it when I did a scavanger hunt. I would ask my sister or a friend to come over and hang out with us to help. Divide the girls into 2 teams. Make a list of about 12 different items, make some easy some tough (like a candy cane) and have the girls get only 1 item from each house. See who gets back to your house with all 12 in the fastest time. The neighbors seem to have fun with it too. You could also have a hula hoop competition (use a stopwatch to time them). Or bob for apples! Have a great time. Enjoy her while she's little!! You're gonna miss these days with her when she's 16!! :(
If your daughter is in to playing dress up, then you could have all the girls dress up (maybe even do there hair) and then let them model down the runway.
Oh you are lucky! =p I still want a slumber party! LOL
I had a few ideas. They will be hyper & on sugar rushes & it ill be a long exciting night! You can do a face mask or paint each others nails or do each others hair. Have a fashion or talent show. Have your daughter pick out what breakfast would she want to have. Have a stack of paper cups & put their name on the tape. ;-) Have them all pick movies to watch or have them already from store or movie shelf. You can have them make their own cookies. Make their own smoothies. Good luck & have fun!
My suggestion is keep it simple because every year they will want to outdo the next. What you have is good, they love just hanging out. They will have fun with the karoake.
Do not worry about being a procrastinator they will never know. Pick up a cake from Costco or Sam's and or make one if you like to bake. You are not a procrastinator you are a busy mom with 3 children I know I have 3 and haven't sent out Mother's Day cards yet. Also, your children are all very young so cut yourself some slack, and just put a smile on and do your best to enjoy the day with your daughter. You can take out blankets and chairs and let them make forts or play musical chairs (they may still like that at that age. Colored pencils even at my kids age 16 & 14 & 12 (except not with the boy) are still a big hit here. They love to draw you can pick up a few poster boards at Fry's or Michaels for 30 cents to 1.00 and let them create things from drawing, or buy a few beads and stretchy string if you want them to have a project. My experience, for the gift bags they kids are happy with just candy lots of time too.
I think now us parents go way overboard and the kids are just as happy when we do it simple. Have a good party and take care of yourself too.

My 6 year old loves to paint her nails. You can buy quick drying polish and little flower stickers. Just an idea. Hope your daughter has a wonderful day.

I actually squealed when I read this because I am the eternal girly-girl and love slumber parties! my experiences were mostly over the age of 11 (how cool of you to let her have one at 6!) and I don't know what your daughter and her friends are into, but when I offered manicures at my little cousin's slumber party many moons ago, they all LOVED it! I set up a table, just like at the salon... with a soaking dish, towels, etc. it was super cute :0)
My daughters love to do pedicures. For one slumber party, I let them do mani/pedicures and got nail art from Wal-mart. I went to the dollar store & bought kits for every girl. They also did makeup on each other. I bought a few of the disposible cameras & let them click away. I also let them use the digital and each girl got to take a computer printed picture home. Have fun!
ONE OF MY DAUGHTERS BEST PARTIES WE HAD AN AMERICAN GIRL DOLL THEME & WE MADE THEIR DOLLS SLEEPING BAGS,HAD A TEA PARTY W/ HATS & JEWELRY ,& WE HAD A SCAVENGER HUNT THAT I HAD SET-UP W/ NEIGHBORS BEFOREHAND..THEY LOVED IT!!!!..WE LIVED IN A RURAL AREA THEN & INCLUDED SOME LOCAL STORES W/IN WALKING DISTANCE.mAYBE A THEME AROUND SOMETHING THAT IS POPULAR FOR THEM THAT THEY MIGHT ALL OWN TO BRING W/ THEM-
I just had a s party just with my s. My husband went camping with the boys as well, last weekend. My 2 s and I went swimming and out to eat that night, then we came home and painted our nails and toes, played a game of twister and watched the movie Enchanted tell we all fell asleep. Good times!!! Have fun!!

You got lots of good advice! I haven't had a slumber party that young, so you are brave...but when my oldest girl turned 8 I let her have a slumber party and they slept in a tent in the backyard! They had so much fun!! Yours might be a little young for that, but maybe set up a tent indoors that they could play/sleep in? Also, they will definately wake up early so have something set up for them to do if you want to sleep at all :) Donuts in the morning are always a big hit!
We just found an AWESOME game called Hyper Dash and it is interactive and allows for teams-playing. It would be perfect for your party, and it is a lot of fun - even for adults.

You can get it at Toys R Us ;)
I just had a slumber party for my daughter for her 7th b-day. It sounds like you are in pretty good shape. Especially if you let them help in the kitchen. I would have a movie on hand (a la "High School Musical" variety), and maybe some board games. The other thing, if you have the time, is to come up with a fun craft for them to do. If your girls are like the ones at my party, you might want a plan for the morning. Our girls didn't go to sleep until midnight, but woke eachother up at 6:00am. I put on a movie for them, so I could try and sleep a little more. Whether you plan a lot or not, the girls will have fun. The planning just allows you to control the level of chaos a little more.
Good luck!
