PJ party (don't know if kidss that young will sleep over yet but you can still have a pj party)
Indoor mini-golf (glow in the dark place)
My son is turning 6 at the end of this month and only wants to invite 5 or 6 kids to celebrate his birthday. Anyone have any party suggestions that worked for you, either inside or outside the home? Thanks
C.
Thank you everyone for your great ideas for a birthday party. I'll be looking into several of them.

We live in Bergen County but have a friend in Hackettstown, so we've been to a few parties out there. One year our friend held it in the McDonalds in Hackettstown with an indoor playground. (She had it one year in Mt. Olive at an outdoor minigolf place, but that won't work this time of year.)
Well, my son turned 6 about 2 and half years ago and he only wanted at least 4 people at his party so I took them to a place like Chuck E. Cheese. Not to plan a party there. Just take them there like regular and let them have fun for as long as they want. I didn't plan the party with them because it was too much for so little time.
it's winter! a sledding, skating or snowshoeing party would be great! you could build an obstacle course out of snow and have a snow painting contest (a little food coloring and water in a squirt gun or spray bottle) or go tubing at gore! and let's not forget hot cocoa with lots of marshmallows!
A pirate theme treasure hunt
Riverside kids! I took my daughter there and loved it. I have been working a lot and didnt have much time to plan her party. I heard about this place through one of my friends. I loved it didnt have to do anything. Everything was done when i got there.
you have to check out there web site
the employees there are friendly! and all the parents that I invited loved it too. My son is asking me when are we going to plan his party there!

Hi C.,
My daughter just had a great indoor party for her stepson who turned 8. When they went to pick out a pinata, he chose a Tiki Head. They had a great tiki luau (sp?) party. She purchased a coconut to play hot potato with & then coconut bowling. They made grass skirts & gave the kids all plastic leis. They also played limbo with a broom stick. Have fun with what ever theme you decide.
go bowling or roller skating

there is a place on Rt 57 in washington Twsp called Eyes of the Wild (www.eyeswild.com) they do birthday with animals. i don't know if they are good or not, but it sounds cool to me. Also, the Lego store at the Bridgewater Mall does parties. just some thoughts. i know some firestations will do kids parties too--they tour the station, get to check out the trucks etc. good luck. A.

I used to always turn to Family Fun Magazine when my kids were young. Now they have everything for a variety of different themes online. You could pick and choose.
