I'd like an Honest Person for My Car

My husband used to be a mechanic . His advice is to go to Carl's Personal Automotive in Round Rock . My husband has known him for 20 years and used to work for him .

Express Care of Round Rock, Round Rock Ave, Round Rock. They are on 620 at the Lake Creek Dr traffic light (near RR high school). ###-###-####. We have gone there several times and have always received excellent service! They are honest and friendly. My young children love to watch and the owner and his wife explain to my kids what they are doing as they do it (ie: the oil, the filter, the machines, etc).

John and Corky's Automotive Specialists. They are near Hester's Crossing and IH-35. I won't take my car anywhere else. Even as a woman, I always feel like they are treating me honestly and give me good prices.

At some point there was a cold and rainy day and I was having break light issues. I showed up at the garage only to find that they were already closed. As I tried to figure out where to go next, one of the mechanics happened to be there and came out. He found the problem and fixed it in 5 minutes at no charge. Now I'm hooked. They will do a simple oil change all the way to putting a new engine in your car.

If you just want a simple and quick oil change, I recommend the Kwik Kar on Parmer just east of Mopac. Nice guys there and not big on pushing the extras.

I have an awesome mechanic in Georgetown. He's always really reasonable and good at what he does. I have never felt screwed by him. His name is Ralph Anderson and he is on hwy 29 E. His number is ###-###-####.

Have you tried City Automotive on 620 next to Wendy's?They have always been honest and fair with my dad and I have taken our car there (we just moved back!) and found them honest and reasonably priced.

I used a mobile mechanic when my "check engine" light came on. To go to a regular place I was told I'd have to leave the car and I simply couldn't do that, as I had no way home. Plus - to do a diognostic it would have cost $89 before any work was even done. So I rang Elite Mobile services. It IS a $100 minimum but that includes the 1st hour (which you can't blame him - he's got to make it worth his while). Incidentally I asked how much a tune up would be and he said about an hour -so $100 is a lot cheaper than the $300 I was quoted by Sears. Anyway - my issue was I needed a new gas cap. Can you believe it? Anyway - he went and got it and didn't charge me more than the minimum. He's a good guy with a family and relies on his regulars so doesn't rip people off. He's just a sort of eccentric character who likes the lifestyle of driving around talking to people but has all the very latest diognostic equipment and everything. I'd certainly ring him again.

We use henna chevrolet for oil changes. i got tired of the 15 min oil changes messing up my vehicles and then not taking accountability. my confirmation about finding alternatives to jiffy lube and others came one day when the guy asked me what kind of oil would i like? go figure. been with henna chev ever since.

My husband & I own Express Care at 620. We do oil changes, preventative maintenance and state inspections. My husband prides himself on doing quality work without ripping off customers. Andy at the Austin V Shop is FANTASTIC! Several times he's done a check on my car (30K, 60K, etc) and returned it was NOTHING needing to be done. He's very honest and kind. He doesn't work on many cars, though so call and ask if he'll take yours.

We just used Japanese Motor Sports in RR and the owner, John, is excellent. My husband was trying to fix his truck himself and had already bought the parts but he wasn't able to do it so he took it in and they fixed it using the parts my husband had already bought and only charged labor. Plus they did it in one day.

We have the GREATEST GUY... His name is Wayne and he owns WAYNE'S WORLD OF CARS, I know funny. He was bought to us as a blessing. We had just had a baby and needed to get a more "family Friendly" vehicle. He had done work on our car in the past, when we picked out our next vehicle he had it brought to his shop did a complete through check, didn't charge us for it and said if we didn't buy the SUV, he was going to... :)

Not in Round Rock but on 620 just past Lakeline mall on your right, coming from Round Rock is a fantastic place called Christian Brothers Automotive (620& Hatch) ###-###-####. We have been weary/wary also of the same issue and used these guys a couple of times. They are honest, and although a little more expensive in my opinion, the honesty and great customer treatment is far worth it. They have done a fantastic job the last couple times we needed help on our SUV and Infinity. Good luck - Alli
