I actually have a whole set called "Wai Lana's little yogis". I got it when I was working at a health club in Vermont. I was the nursery director and needed an indoor activity for the little ones. You are welcome to borrow it if you like. You can contact me via email ____@____.com
postnatal mommy and me gurmukh dvd is great http://store.goldenbridgeyoga.com/index.php?main_page=pro... on where you live the mommy and me yoga classes at the golden bridge in hollywood are excellent.
Hi K.,
It is a great idea for you and your daughter to start practicing yoga together! It would be a great way to help release some of her high energy and it will help build the bond between you two. Yoga would be a great tool to introduce to her.
I would recommend checking out our site www.elementsofserenity.com
We offer a variety of great yoga products, mats, Cd's & DVDs, yoga props and also have a section just for little yogis. I bought my nephews the Twin Pack DVD set and both the little yogi mats. They can't get enough of the videos. They are 4 and 2 1/2 years old and absolutely love doing their yoga moves. We also offer some really great music Cd's for kids too and my nephews absolutely love them as well, like Animal Playground and Celtic Dreamland Cds!
Have fun and enjoy you're new mother - daughter bonding.

I am not sure if they sell DVD's but I got a cd from "Musical Yoga Adventures" (MusicalYogaAdventures.com) for Christmas. They have graphics of poses and (free) samples of their songs at their website. I think it is fun and just right for toddlers (and their Mamas).

Yoga Kids videos are great fun linking each pose with an animal or aspect of nature. I think you can get them at www.gaiam.com
Have fun. My son still loves volcano pose!

Hello. I'm not sure if she does children's yoga, but really liked the Yoga by Rocki DVDs. A friend (who also studied yoga in India) recommended it to me and I did it when I was pregnant. You can get it on Amazon or even Blockbuster online.
This is really yoga for the baby and doesn't have great exercises for you but there is a book called itsy bitsy yoga that goes through "exercises" to do with them at different ages. Perhaps you could incorporate some of these into your exercise to make it more fun for baby and enhance Your two year old's experience. Take a look at it though. I used it with minne starting from month three so she might enjoy it and participate mmore because she is used to it.
Try checking out yoga videos at the public library. You can check them out on line or take a trip to the different ones. Have a fun adventure!

Aloha K.,
Our family likes the "Yoga for beginners" from LivingYoga. The instructors featured on it are Rodney Yee, Patricia Walden, and Suzanne Deason. Yoga....it's a good thing :O)

Hi K.,
Have you considered going to a yoga studio doing a mommy and me class? That is a great way as well. If you want to stay at home- there is a video called Yogakids. I found that to be a really good one. Check online- there are so many.
I am a yoga instructor myself and know the values that yoga can offer children. They love it! Just make it fun- you can get a book as well. Do the poses with her, make them short and make the sounds of the animals that the poses are mimicking. I.e. Downward Dog- bark like a dog- Cat pose- Meow!
Good Luck and have fun! Get her started now and she will love it forever!

Hi K....
I have numerous yoga dvds..but the I would reccomend is the one featuring Erick Shiffman ..its called Yoga Mind and Body.. here is the link for it.http://www.amazon.com/Ali-MacGraw-Yoga-Mind-Body/dp/B0000... I also have Ericks book Moving Into Stillness which is quite good. Also I have Bikram Yoga by bikram choudhury..I have taken some of Bikrams classes and its really hard to do it in the 105 degree classroom. Hope that helps.

Hi K., I have a friend who teaches private yoga lessons (in your home) to both adults and children. If you're interested, send me a message & I can give you her info. She is wonderful. I took prenatal yoga from her & did her baby yoga classes when my daughter was an infant.
i dont know of any but i have i friend who her and her husband started doing at home yoga and they say it really works for them. Me and me husband are about to start our at home. i'll kit let you know what we get.
Yoga is definitely great exercise. I've been doing it for about 7 years now, both "grown up", pre-natal, and mommy - n- baby.
I'd recommend calling some local yoga studios, if you have them, to see if there's any mommy-n-baby classes. That is an awesome way for you to do yoga and include your daughter.
My 4 year old is also VERY active. I bought a Yoga Kids video but she's never taken to it. There's also classes at some yoga studios sometimes for kids as young as 3, with parent's involvement. That could be an option too.
Obviously a studio will be more expensive than a DVD, but yoga has helped me be a better mom by giving me a "calming source" not to mention great muscle tone. :)
Good luck!
