I Threw Up...

... and my son has speech therapy in an hour. My stomach is soooo upset... none of the kids are sick, and I think this has to do with nerves, stress, and anxiety more than anything, but my poor tummy is NOT okay right now.

I can't run and get ginger ale right now... what else helps soothe an upset belly?

No, I don't have pepto, that other stomach stuff (can't think of what it's called, it's a common name), no coca cola, no syrup of cola... I have like nothing here (I was going to go to the store this morning, but since I was puking and everything... I haven't gone yet).

Help me feel better :( I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep. No fever, just an upset tummy, and I didn't sleep well last night...

What can I do next?

drink room temp water slowly, eat dry toast or crackers, and cancel the appt. You dont want to pass this around to anyone else.

Go to a drive thru and leave the session if you have too. You usually aren't required to stay. Calm down and pick him back up.

Hope your feeling better, did you hold it together enough to get him there for his session? I know in my area in MD and some relatives in the VA area have said there is a terrible stomach virus going around that hits you out of no where. Saltines & gingerale lots of rest.
Take care!

I keep sliced ginger in my freezer and carbonated water in the pantry. A slice of bread or crackers might help. Even potato chips, as long as they're not too greasy.

If you have the flu, please cancel. I'm sure the therapist doesn't want your sickness, and you won't be "with it" to hear any instructions. If you can get someone else to take him, great, but if not, I'd bail.

Ice chips stuck in the side of your mouth (just a spoonful at a time) will keep you hydrated but bypass the stomach.

:( I am sorry you feel like this I really am...with three kids I have found it extremely important to always have tummy bug staples on hand, saltines, gatorade and milanta(spelling). My only suggestion that at least helps in our family is to use mouthwash!! suck slowely on a candy cane if you have one

Do you have candy canes on the tree? suck on a candy cane. The peppermint oil will help calm your stomach - that's one of the key ingredients in pepto.

I am so sorry R. terrible to have an upset tummy.... :( You do need to get some Mylanta the plain kind that is white and chalky yuck I know but it does help calm down the tummy. You do need to do a Sprite or Ginger Ale run and the suggestion about crackers is good. Feel better soon!

Carbonated water does seem to help, though it should not. I read below the suggestion of keeping ginger in the freezer, but crushed ginger in a jar or even powered ginger in a tea help a sore tummy.

So does peppermint tea.

Hope you are feeling better now.

I'm sorry - R. - I'm just now seeing this!!!

I hope you are better today!!

For an upset stomach? I usually have LIGHTLY buttered toast or saltine crackers...Sprite/7Up helps too.

Another thing to do since we know it's most likely stress/anxiety related instead of a bug? meditate...I know Roman likes to be in your face - but sit and breathe long, deep breaths, let them out slowly, focus on something - like a candle or something...and think good thoughts - I know it's hard when your stomach is giving you pain...

Complex carbs help settle an upset stomach, so if you have potatoes or whole wheat that can help. I've been known to munch on dry Frosted Mini Wheats when I feel nauseated if I didn't have time to make some Cream of Wheat.
