I Need Some Ideas on Where to Take My Kids Trick or Treating!

If you are in the Leeds area, there are several church events to choose from. My neighborhood has restricted access for vehicles after 5:00 to allow for safer trick-or-treating. It will be packed with kids, there are typically groups that drop people off at the entry and let everyone walk in to trick-or-treat. It's open to everyone, not just those living in the neighborhood. The neighborhood really has a lot of fun with it.

I'm not sure where you live, but my church, CrossBridge Church of Christ is having a Fall Festival with blow ups for jumping and tons of games, activities & candy on the Sunday evening the 28th. I believe it starts at 4. It's off of Hwy 280 on Brook Highland Pkwy. Many churches have activities on the actual Halloween night, although since Halloween is on Wednesday this year, some churches may be having their regular Bible Study time instead of a Halloween event.
If you want to come to a neighborhood, any of the neighborhoods with sidewalks get a lot of trick or treaters.

Welcome to Birmingham! When you say the East side of town, I tend to think about Trussville or the Eastwood Mall area. Trussville has lots of nice neighborhoods to trick-or-treat in and you might call Trussville Baptist Church. They are large and offer lots of events. If you don't mind driving a short bit, Philadelphia Baptist Church in Cahaba Heights always has a great Trunk-or-Treat for the kids. Call both of these churches and see what their plans are.

Whoever told you to look at Churches is right. It's very popular here to "trunk or treat" at church instead of doing the door to door thing. The churches welcome anyone of course and they really are alot of fun. I know all of the LDS churches go all out. We're not members but we go every year and have a blast. Good Luck!!

My church has a Fall Festival on October 31 from 6-8 pm. All activities are free...hot dogs and other snacks, games, space bounce, hay ride, etc. It is Southcrest Baptist Church on S. Shades Crest Rd. in Bessemer. Lots of churches have similar things. Also, we have some friends in Homewood. Their neighborhood (near Homewood Park) blocks off the street and has trick-or-treating on Saturday, October 27. I think it begins at dusk. Hope this helps!

From what I understand, a great place to take kiddos is Birmingham Southern College. Last year my grands were in Foster Care and it was the first time we couldn't be with them. The foster parents told us they were taking them there and what a great place it was. I later heard from the kiddos that it was exactly that.
The Frat & Soro Houses are all ready, and everything is supposedly all decked out and ready for the little Trick or Treators! We have custody back this year, so they will be TorT with their aunt and cousins at the church, with family, and friends!
