I Need Energy During the Day!!

Does anyone have any "natural" suggestions for how to increase my energy? I'm so unmotivated to work and all I can think about is going back home to bed during the day. I get enough sleep (go to bed at 8:30-9pm and wake at 5-5:30) and just not sure what I can do. I do exercise (cardio for 20-30 minutes on elliptical and light weights) in the morning. I've been doing that previous so not sure what could be causing it..
Your advice will definitely help.

thanks!

there's so many thing you can do. When I was pergnant I was drinking apple cider vinegar with honey,it did help me.
one tea spoon of honey and one teas spoon of vinegar mix it with glass of water.I hope it could help you also.
you also tired because you are pregnant,it's normal... for the first 3 months of pregnancy you'll be tired and you will think of going home to sleep,I was the same. but try vinegar, it can help.

I am pregnant too, with my first baby, and when I was in my first trimester I was absolutely exhausted too. I had never felt so tired in my life - it was amazing! I didn't do anything special to try to get more energy because I was also very nauseous and was struggling just to eat a balanced diet, but I did try to eat lots of protein (which is recommended anyway) and that sometimes seemed to help a little bit. Once I reached 13 weeks, I felt almost 'normal' again, so my advice is to sleep as much as you can and try to be patient. I'm in my third trimester now and am starting to feel tired again, though not as much as I did in my first trimester, so I'll be trying to take my own advice now too. :)
Good luck. I know it's hard to get through the day sometimes without nearly as much energy as you're used to, but it's for a great cause: a healthy baby. :)

Hi J.-
I felt the same way after I had a miscarriage and my chiropractor recommended Juice Plus, which is made from 17 different fruits, vegetables and grains and conveniently put in a capsule. Since taking Juice Plus I've had lots more energy and also feel healthier. I also want to reassure you that it's safe for pregnant women and recommended by Dr. Doug Odom, who is an OBGYN at the University of Mississippi and has published a research article regarding Juice Plus during pregnancy. You can get information about this natural, whole food product that is packed with lots of nutrition and is backed by medical research at www.wholekidsjuiceplus.com, can give me a call at ###-###-#### or send me an e-mail.

Good luck with increasing your energy and with your pregnancy. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best of Health,

I was once told that, if a man offers his wife a night out at her dream restaurant and she says she is too tired, then she is pregnant. When you are pregnant, you are tired - I mean, your body is creating another one - it's hard work! Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to have more energy than getting enough sleep and exercising. Good luck!

Remember your body is making a whole new person in there.... that takes a lot of energy. I used to take a 15 minute power nap in my work breakroom at lunch. It became a running joke in my office but people understood and woke me up when lunch was over. It was what I needed. It gets a lot better after 12 weeks or so. Congratulations!

I have had a lot of problems with energy. I have found that when I get "good" sleep, eat the right foods, drink at least 6 glasses of water each day, exercise and take vitamins, I do feel better. Vitamin B helps with energy. I have also struggled with Anemia, so you may want to get a blood workup at your doctor's office to see if you are deficient in anything. K.

You are tired because you are pregnant!!! Congratulations!

If you can sleep in a bit more that could help. Or take a nap if your schedule allows it. Drink lots of water, make sure you get your protien in....Not sure how you are feeling about food right now:), but trying to eat as well as you can...protiens, fruits, veggies, can help give you more energy. When you are feeling quite tired and not able to rest, try doing some deep breathing exercises. There is one that is particularly good at energizing.
Get in a a comfortable space and either sit or stand. Close your eyes or soften your gaze, then imagine a ray of light starting at the base of your spine. On your deep inward breath, follow that ray of light up your spine up to the top of your head, as you pause for a moment before your outward breath. As you breath out, focus all your attention to breathing your life force into every cell in your body and down in front still following your ray of light down into your abdomen, over your baby, just under your belly into a well where you hold all energy. On your inward breath again, take your energy from your well and up your spine again and so forth. This breathing exercise when practiced is very deep breathing so you might find just a few of these is all you can do.

Possibly there are some natural remedies or herbs you can take, but I personally don't know of any...I'm sure another mamasource mom will.

Much good energy to you and your growing babe.

In peace,
A.

Hi J.

I would recommend getting your spine checked by a chiropractor. A good chiropractor can explain why that is and why you need your spine checked.
Meantime, get your blood work done for your thyroid...

Let me know if you are interested in getting a free consult from me to see if there is anything I can help you with.

Prenancy will make you tired. Your body is now working on supplying nutrients to another living being. You can try a good vitamin B complex as well as vitamin C to help with energy. Also eating smaller and more meals during the day will help keep your blood sugar level more stable. Exercise is a great thing, but you may want to consult your doctor and/or personal trainer on how to tailor your workout to your pregnancy.

Hope this was helpful...and congratulations!

Time to have obgyn check thyroid level. It is normal for pregnant women to tire and require a couple of naps or quiet lay down times during day. Enjoy it now. when baby comes, rest and sleep will be mandatory. Sleep when baby sleeps etc. It may be your body telling you to begin a routine. Remember too that the doubest question is the one that is never asked. Ask the obgyn. God bless and be sure you get a support group for you during the first year and beyond. Lunch dates, library storey times etc. You are not alone. We've all been there. Enjoy the pregnancy and the gift God has given.

Hi J.,

It's true.. you're tired because your baby is getting lots of your good nutrients and calories :) Make sure you're taking a really high quality pregnancy multi-vitamin, preferably one that requires you to take 4-6 pills a day for the full dose... it'll have a nice dose of B vitamins to give you more energy!

If you are only 6 weeks pregnant there is nothing you can do but sleep. Your body is telling you that you need rest. It takes a lot of energy to cook a little baby in our tummies. My first trimester was spent napping. I remember falling asleep at my desk at work one time! I would come home about 4 and go straight to bed, get up to eat dinner with my hubby at 7 and be back to bed by 8. By the second trimester my energy came back but was gone again in the third trimester (mostly from lugging around all the extra pounds.) Good for you for working out...that will help when baby finally arrives and you will have to be chasing after those pitter patter feet :)

I have the answer for you it is Himalayan GoChi juice. It is not sold in stores and it is 100% natural and preservative free. Better yet you have a 90 day money back guarentee with it if it doesn't work for you. So what do you have to loose? I am up at 4:30 a.m. I go to a boot camp , I run a daycare and have 4 children of my own and always have enough energy to get me through life. I go to bed normally between 9 and 10 and sleep like a baby. I was never a morning person until I found GoChi and I wake up so refreshed and ready to go. I would be more then happy to send you more information or you are more then welcome to join us next Tuesday the 26th for a taste testing party. My web page is Barbgarcia.com.
Good luck to you and I hope to hear from you

Being the mom of 5, unless you are anemic....this is totally normal. I really recommend listening to your body and if you feel tired and have the opportunity to take a nap, then do it! You need extra sleep in order to grow your baby. The tiredness will let up as you get into your 2nd trimester but may return again at the end. Take advantage of 'your' time right now because after your little one gets here, everything will revolve around them! Best of luck with your pregnancy!

You really can't get away from feeling utter and complete exhaustion during your first trimester. Your body is going through so many changes and just can't keep up. Double your water intake--you need it because your blood volume is increasing exponentially every day, try to eat small meals every few hours and most importantly try to squeeze in little naps when you can. Once you get into the second trimester, you will feel more like yourself and get much of your energy back.

I am sure everyone will tell you the same thing, the first trimester really wears you out. Your body is adjusting to being pregnant. I don;t think there is anything you can do expect weather the storm. Good Luck and Happy Pregnancy!

Thats what pregnancy does to you. Just to be sure though, have your iron checked. If you're anemic that will make you very tired. I wouldn't take anything w/o consulting your OB, even if it's natural. Congrats and good luck!

Hi,
I'm not sure what to tell you about what to do for more energy, but I can tell you that being pregnant is a major cause of no energy. All your energy is going toward growing a healthy baby. It does get better after the first 3 months, before it gets worse again the last month or so.
If you're dealing with any depression at all in addition, that will also sap your energy.
Good luck with your pregnancy and being a mom.

my energy came back around 12-14 weeks. it was like a light switch. it is normal and nothing really you can do. drinks lots of water and go outside for sunshine. i felt like the sun helped energize me. it is proven. hot but helpful. good luck. one cup of tea or coffee is ok too.

hi, J.! congrats on your pregnancy! and my sympathies for everything that goes along with it :) lol

being tired is pretty natural for the first trimester. i always felt like i could sleep anytime of the day (and did take frequent naps with my first pregnancy). it does go away, and you will probably feel pretty good until that third trimester when your energy gets sapped again.

good luck! take it easy, and enjoy the naps now...they will soon be few and far between! stay away from "energy" stuff, even the natural kind, unless your OB says it is okay. there are very few things you can take during your pregnancy that are safe for your baby!

congrats on the new pregnancy...that is what is causing the incredible urge to want to go back to sleep. your body is working so hard to grow your new little one that all you want to do is sleep. It is perfectly normal and will get better usually around 12 weeks or so, until then, takes lots of naps and try to get more sleep! i remeber sleeping 20 hours a day some days and my husband thought i was seriously ill!!

I am obsessed with the all natural juice called Mona Vie. I don't need any kind of nap anymore and I jump out of bed in the morning. I can't explain it but check out the website. The thing I hate is that it is multi-level marketing product but I signed on as a distributor for $39 and get it 1/2 price. Let me know if you're interested.

your baby is needing you to rest as my ob said "listening to the little one starts before they are born"...& get this I worked during the day w/ his son ( a student of mine)...he said I needed to schedule naps & rest periods...sleep is one those first trimester signs & needs...cut back on work as much as possible, deligate work into new creative baby friendly times ( 20 minute catnaps do wonders even if you are just letting the body & eyes rest w/out sleep
