For my daughters birthday last year, she had 2 friends spend the night. we ordered pizza and had a store bought cake. I made special goody bags with fuzzy socks and some lip gloss, etc in them. They watched Hannah Montana and WallE and went to bed (with a lot of giggles!) the next morning we has a big pancake breakfast and the girls played until pick-up time. She liked it so much, she just asked for the same thing for her 7th b-day next month!

You could do a sleep over with a few girls and make it a pamper party. You would give them pedicures and manicures and then you guys could make a craft project and watch a movie. You will want to check with the parents to make sure its ok to paint their nails as some parents might not want that and thenm you could ask if clear is ok.

What if you held it at your house and asked all the little girls to come dressed as princess' from former halloween costumes or dress up they already have, or even if they come as thier favorite disney character? Play some games, have cake etc. \

Hi A.

Party wharhouses often sell theme type items, from little toys for goodie bags to matching paper plates...
and they aren't very expensive. Additionally, it's the simple things that go over best.. Bubbles (if u have a place for the kids to blow em)a pinata is always fun, pin the tail on the donkey... many grocery stores also do princess cakes..I know Lucky's does and they are pretty cute not expensive. OR I have now seen themed cupcakes... so that might even be easier..
oh and Caesar's Pizza does inexpensive pizzas... and will cut into bit size child pieces if you ask them to do as such.. in all, you can easily keep the party UNDER 100 if not less..
best of luck to you

Greetings A., Having given many childen parties in my life time I would like to give you a few ideas. Since Princess is the key word here.. I suggest that you dress up a very lovely table. If you don't want to use your best china get somethng nice at the Dollar Store. Pick up crowns and staffs, and pretty little boxes with treats or that can hold clues to the prize onlythe pure in heart of princesses can find. In the center of the table have a decorated doll cake they can enjoy seeing, and either you can decorate it very easy or get it from Safeway or Lucky's for a resonabel price. If you can get dad to dress up as a butler, or trubdor that is even more fun. I have a elegant cake stand that is fully lovely to look at all by itself but with the doll cake on it and bows at the base with streamers going from the cake to the girls chair. is a lovely sight. with bows with the cake sitting there for them to see, I t really is a blast, We did it one time when the guests were atteding the queens luncheon and then all the ecourt were to join her for fun food and then each girl went home with a small doll cake that I had decorated.
Now this we did at my home once inside and once in the back yard. I have done it for church groups as well. Good Luck,
What we ave always done after eating the cake we have a pile of fabric and the gils use the imagination to make dollclothers fo the dolls, Have a lovely time Nana Glenda

I have had parties at home for my daughter and she loves them.
party games are always fun and don't cost much.
I'm sure there are lots of princess themed game online.
Its easier if you set a small limit of guests.
good luck, have fun

Try having it at one of her friends houses, you can bring the cake and dollar tree plates and decorate the night before. For my 6 year old's birthday I bought one of the big plastic tubs of ice cream (kids like the one with three flavors because they can choose their favorite -choc, strawberry, vanilla) turn it upside down on a plate, take a warm knife, smooth it all over. Refreeze the ice cream "cake". Decorate it with her favorite cookies around the base and provide extra cookies on a plate. Put candles in the top and everybody sings happy birthday. The the kids can have their own ice cream sandwiches. My family loved it, we had oatmeal, sugar, chocolate chip etc sandwiches...they tried all the different flavors on different cookies...refreeze the cake so you can tip it back into the container without a big mess and save the ice cream for another day... cheapest birthday ever!

First off since you have little money I would say have it at home. Keep your guest list to a minimum, no more than 6 or 7 children. Do you have a room where you can move out a bit of furniture and set up a table, or use your dining room.
Have a Princess tea party. Put lovely table linens on, in pink, white.(borrow if you must.) Is there any way to drape pretty fabrics over back of chairs, or slip a white pillowcase over chair back and then tye curling ribbon around it, ending with a BIG bow on the back. attach a pink, purple and white ballon cluster the the back of each chair, in the middle of the big bow. tie same colored ribbon around each child's plasic cup (can u find plastic wine glasses?) Ask all the girls to dress up as princesses, or have them dress up at the party if you have enough play clothes. Make tea sandwiches by using cookie cutters to make cute shapes or cut the sandwiches into 3 or 4 strips. Dip strawberries and marshmallows in chocolate. serve pink lemonaide or fruit punch for the tea. and gold foil wrapped candies. Play the cinderella movie music soundtrack while you have tea. Have an area set up with a big mirror and a dress up box, where the girls can add beads, lipstick, eye shadow, nail polish, boas, high heels, plastic flowers to stick in their hair. (garage sales are a great place for clothing/bead kinds of items- or BORROW from freinds)
Favors can be a hand held mirror for each girl,a little purse, some plastic jewelry, etc. Take pics of all the girls after dressing up. then have the tea/sandwiches. Play a few games. Give away the soundtrack as a favor or give to the bday girl. Then watch the cinderella movie.

save yourself money by keeping disposables at a minimum. Use real forks, and plates if you can.

A. if you don't have a budget...they do have places where you can have princess parties.....or you can have one at your home and go to a stationary store and buy some princess or castle invitations...and write up the invitation like the letter in cinderella where "the Kingdom is searching for every eligible lady to be in attendance to (your daughter's name) birthday party. All ladies of the kingdome are asked to wear thier very best ball gown and glass slippers..and to make sure that thier carriage drops them off at (your address), etc."

Party favors can be crowns and jewerly that you can get a the dollar store.

For a cake..do cupcakes that you make and decorate them up big time!....and display them on nice platters..heck, if you have china..pull it out!

have a craft for when the girls arrive....you can probably get different color sheets from online of all the diffrent princesss..that way each girl can choose which one she gets to color.

for games...you could do musical chairs..and if you only have 7 girls participating, you can say that the chairs are the 7 dwarves chairs.

you can play a game of hot potatoe...but instead..use an apple (from Snow White's story)...last person get's a prize, which I like to get the prizes at Micheals...a little bit more qualitiy than what you would get at the dollar store.

you can also play a game of where the object is and have the chairs lined up like a bed and have one girl lay on it like snow white and then when she wakes up see if she can find it...you can use the apple....

if you have princess music, you can have the girls dance to it....you can have the dance in pairs, like at a ball, to "Some Day My Prince Will Come"...I think that is from Sleeping Beauty...

the possibilities are endless...you just got to get to brainstorming!

A.,
6 year olds love tea parties....have a tea party where everyone dresses up in either thier favorite character(like snow white, cinderella or whatever)or just thier fancy best And have a tea luncheon. Get some feather boas and girlie things for the favors(little rings, bracelets oand necklaces and tie them up in a hankie with a ribbon) at the party store, and use a tea set or go get one for 20 dollars. (serve little sandwich triangles or scones / mini muffins and jelly. Like a Victorian tea. It will cost you very little and the end result is fabiulous. They love it! Even boys like to dress up for fun. :)

Well, first I would do it at home, since that is the cheapest place to do it. Then I would let her know that she can only invite 4-5 friends. I would probably do a couple of Take and Bake pizzas for the kids (Papa Murphey's always has coupons out that make the pizza really cheap). As for the Snow White theme, check this website out http://family.go.com/entertainment/princess/?CMP=OTC-DIS_.... It's everything princess. They have great cake ideas and craft ideas that are inexpensive and that the kids can do at the party. I hope this helps.

Hi A.,

I am in the same exact boat. My daughter's b-day is Dec. 7th and she is turning 5. It is hard when it is so close to X-mas. What i did was I went on the internet and they tell you how to make this pink castle cake. It is beautiful. So I got the frosting and cake mix and food coloring, etc. Everything cost less than $10.

Then I am going to go to Michaels and they have this picture frame kit there. I am going to have each of the girls decorate their frames and then I will take a picture of all the girls (probably print it out at work on my color printer) and I will later provide a copy to each of the girls so that they have a photo to put in the frame. I got a pinata and we are going to make nachos and some other dishes for snacking.

Hope that helps. Good Luck!!
