Hi. I live in Hoffman Estates, IL and my baby's neonatologists want us to start looking for a pediatrician. I haven't lived in IL for that long, so I am not sure where to go. I want someone who knows about preemies and is good with kids. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

You have the right to ask for a tour of the dr. office and I am sure you can meet with a dr. and ask them questions--the dr. office i would reccommend is woodfield pediatrics--They have the greatest doctors that stay on top of things and 2 of them are still there from when I was a kid--Dr. Robertson was my favorite dr. for my kids and I am sure you can call them and ask them their experience with preemies--it is the hardest thing to find a doctor you like but I am positive you will like this office and the doctors there--Good luck on your search

We also see Dr. Amr Megahed at Children and Teens in Algonquin and love him. We started off seeing Dr. Belter there and really liked him too. But Dr. Megahed has a wonderful personality and is great with the kids and makes them feel really comfortable and is totally funny. I would highly recommend him.

I highly recommend Dr. Amr Megahed who is located at Children and Teens Medical Center. I first met him when my daughter was first born and although we were suppose to be seeing another pediatrician, we stayed with him. He has a wonderful personality and truly does make you feel comfortable. He is also not the kind of doctor that will force his opinions on you either. He gives reccomendations and backs up his recommendations, but he does not force anything on you or judge either. I see him at the Algonquin office, but they also have practices located in Shaumburg and Barington. Here is the website for them:

Although I have not had to deal with any of the other doctors at the practice (luckily my daughter has not had to go for a sick visit yet!), I have also heard great things about Dr. Fell and Dr. Belter.

Also, I have found this great website in which patients can rate doctors and write reviews. You can go to this site and check out the ratings of any doctors you might be considering, assuming they hgave been rated by others. Good luck!
