i got hypnotized to quit smoking 30 years ago. i walked outside and lit up. what a waste of $50, even more so back then.
i DID quit (finally) about 6 years ago. maybe it just took a while.
:)
i think it CAN be helpful. depends on how susceptible you are (i don't think i am at all) and maybe how many sessions you try (i may be unfair, since i only went once.)
i would say go in with an open mind and a healthy level of skepticism.

It all depends on you and how open you are to it.

When I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I had the most awful time staying gluten free bc I craved those foods SO bad. The downfall was that it all made me sick! So I looked into hypnotherapy and found a good one based on REVIEWS. (that's key).

Also, a good hypnotherapist will give you a CD or recording of the visit so you can listen as you fall asleep if you feel yourself slipping etc.

It absolutely worked for me!!

Took about 3 days to settle in from that session but I replayed the CD as I fell asleep and I've been strictly gluten free since. It trained my brain to view gluten as poison basically.

Also, a good supplement to that would be accupuncture.
It all depends what you want to go for.

Morning
I have tried it for anxiety and YES ..I actually think it works.. Also, I have anxiety when it comes to driving on my own and being a passenger and going through tunnels/Claustrophobia..

That said, recently I was able to go through a tunnel at two different times and I felt very little If any anxiety. The tunnels take about 10 mins or longer to get through so IF you are one that has problems going through tunnels or narrow spaces, you can well imagine that 10 minutes can feel like a lifetime...

Additionally, I am still working on the anxiety around driving but as a passenger , I feel much calmer and don't backseat drive as much :) (ask my husband)

I will tell you this, when you enter hypnotherapy for ONE issue, you might come to find out that that which you think is the problem is only part one.. meaning, there may be something underlying that causes the issue to begin with..

Also, there is a FREE website called EFTUNIVERSE.COM.. it's interesting and you can read up about other people who have and continue to use hypnotherapy.. Also, you can look up certified practitioners in your area..

Overall, I have gone about 10 times and with regard to the claustrophobia, I feel much better and don't have as much anxiety when it comes to riding in vehicles or going through tunnels.

Lastly, I think the hypnotherapy is subtle.. it kinda sneaks up on you.. in a way, I still think at times, ummm am I really calm going through this tunnel?? or have I just psyched myself up to be that way.. it's kinda like what came first chicken or the egg.. either way, hypnotherapy is worth looking into .. see if it's right for you..

IM me if you have more questions..

best of luck

I have done it twice and it worked very well for me. You have to be open and actually wanting whatever change you are seeking. You have to know it's not some magic thing and you have to go along with it (if you sit there and fight it thinking "i'm awake, I'm awake" you're going to be wasting your money). Usually it only takes one session and you get a digital copy of the session to take home and do follow up sessions on your own. Good luck!
