WAit! Ok, I get it! It's a GOOD thing! Sorry it took me a minute!
And yes, I know what you mean, my guy says 'can we have this everyday?' no matter what I make.
:)
I LOVE my husband!!! He drives me insane sometimes but hey - overall, I can't complain!!
I was making dinner this evening and I realized I didn't have gravy....so i told him "you want the good news or the bad news?" he said - give me the good news first...I told him "I have gravy" and he says "Okaaaayyyy????" The bad news I only have chicken gravy....he said "your mashed potatoes are good and your meatloaf is good as well so we don't need the gravy!!"
Has your husband done anything like this?

Just today, my hubby was on the way home from taking the MCAT's; I told him I would cook his favorite meal and he said "YOU'RE my favorite meal :)" LOL
This brings back a sweet memory.
Not too long after our first child was born I was feeling very stressed and insecure. I had lost the baby weight but I was just feeling old, unsexy, etc.
Anyway, we went to an office function so I was dressed up, looking nice etc, and this random guy from my hubby's company kept leering at me. I said to my husband, man X is creeping me out the way he stares. My husband said, "well if I didn't know you I'd be staring too."
I love that man of mine!!!
It's amazing how they can be drive you crazy one day and then make you fall madly in love the next, isn't it? ;)
Nice!! Yes, my husband will say, "This may be better than my Mom's!" Now that is a HUGE compliment because his Mom is an awesome cook. I also occasionally get a ,"This may be the best pizza/spaghetti/ect.. I have ever had!"
Funny how little compliments can make it all worth it!!
My husband left for a business trip. Before he left he brought me lunch at work. When I woke up the next morning I went to the kitchen to make coffee and he'd already prepared it. All I had to do was push the button! Awesome!!
I also love it when I'm thinking I'm out of gas and will have to stop at the gas station on the way to work but when I get in the car and turn it on (usually running late to boot)...voila!...a full tank!
Everytime he does something like that I just think to myself..."I love that man!"
my hubs is a sweetie too....a few days ago he was mock grouching to his mom on the phone about all the improvements I want on the house, just playing around like I keep him full of honey-do's. A few minutes later, when he didn't realize I could hear him he said "the only thing I wish is that I could get it all for her faster..." in all seriousness. Totally melted my heart, LOVE him! Sounds like you have a great guy over there :D
Awww what a great guy! :)
Now I want meatloaf and mashed potatoes, but the hubs made fish for dinner. Not nearly as exciting.
He always tells me I'm a good mommy and somehow knows when I am most down, to tell me.
What a wonderful Husband you have - My husband does the same type of thing!
Does he have a brother? cousin? I've been looking a long time and I only meet jerks.
I thought it was so sweet my daughter's boyfriend who lives in a different state called my Mom on her 94th birthday to wish her a happy birthday. AWWW
Aw, how cute. My hubby does that stuff too. I really dig the kitchen love. :)
Awwwww, my husband does things like this ALL of the time!! He's so easy to please!!! :) He always makes me feel better when I've burnt something and I'm upset at myself for it, he'll say, "this is the way I prefer it" and then go on to tell me that it was the best _____ he's ever had. I know he's full of it, but I appreciate the fact that it's not a big deal to him and that he's trying to make me feel better.
My husband loves my cooking too!
Awww! Yippeeee! Getting that respect in the kitchen! My husband is from mexico and he came here at 12 yrs old. Our cultures are completely different and he so wasn't used to my country cooking. Now it has to have mashed potatoes or its just not right! He complements me all the time and it feels good!
It's nice to hear a nice story here on mamapedia.
= )
No my husband is a jerk and loves to upset me. He doesn't think he is mean just honest he says. I don't buy it. I do like to hear about husbands being really sweet to their wives though :)
My career has started to take off and I'm bringing home the bacon and I asked him the other day if it bothered him. He said "hell no, I'm so proud of you. You sacrified alot in the early part of our marriage and now its your turn!" Love love that man! It will be 25 years in August. He's still HOT HOT HOT!!!!
This morning my husband said "You make the BEST oatmeal ever!!" He was truly awestruck by it. I made it from the packet that came in the box. I don't care if he is easy to please, it made me feel good anyway. :)
The SWEETEST thing my husband ever did like that was on our wedding day. The JOP introduced us as "John and Susan..." but my name is S.! My husband knew I would be mad but he just leaned over and said, "That was just my mom's way of letting us know she's here." His mom was named Susan and she passed away many years before we were married. I thought it was so sweet that he was thinking about his mom and also trying to comfort me - how could I be mad?!
My husband would have definitely wanted the gravy ;)
But he's a wonderful man and I love him!
KATIE
Just last night he told me how wonderful my pork loin chops with garlic and tarragon was.
Of course I wasn't too 'aaww' about it cause he acts like a jerk most of the time these days... I am with Mel down there...lol
