Hmmm...I guess if she won't leave it alone you could run it in the room for a few hours before bedtime with the door closed (I usually did this anyway) and remove it til she's asleep then put it back in there?
Here's something that never crossed my mind until now... how do you use a humidifier in a toddlers room when they are in a bed? We tried putting it on a shelf with the cord behind the dresser so she couldn't reach it, but the water went right on the ceiling, potential mold hazard. If we put it on the floor it will be a mess since she can easily get to it. What do you do?

get on that blows out straight rather than up, than it can sit on the dresser.
Maybe turn the setting down a bit. Ours is on a higher dresser and works well. I do turn it off and air out the room during the day - open the windows even for an hour or so....
We have the Crane humidifiers - pretty good and adorable designs. They blow air at about a 45 degree angle, or directly up. We put one on the floor of our son's bedroom and have just taught him not to touch it or what kind of touching is okay. After a few days, him getting into trouble with it became less of an issue. Good luck!
I would see how she handles it on the floor. I've had a humidifier on my son's floor every winter since he was born - he's 3 now. If we get a new one (which we seem to have to do every season - a fortune in humidiers!!), he will be curious about it, maybe turn the dials, but he gets bored with it after a few days and leaves it alone.
