Have you tried pouring plain isopropyl alcohol on the stain? I've removed alot of permanent ballpoint and marker ink with it.

When my DS had a blue crayon in his pocket that I didn't find until after the washer and dryer I had succcess getting all the stains out with shout gel and let it set for a while. Then in the wash (just use getnte cycle or handwash cycle for your ) I used my regular detergent and added oxyclean, baking soda and white vinegar. I thought it was a crazy combination when i read it but it worked and saved a lot of clothes!! Although I did have to do it a few times to get all of them clean. Another thing you may try is peroxide. Works like a charm to get blood out of my white nursing pants!
Good Luck!

I had the same problem - red permanent marker on a white shirt! Fels Naptha soap did it after a few washes. It's the stuff our mom's used to wash clothes 50 years ago - and is still the best, in my opinion!

I just experiences something similar last week. My daughter had two fairly large spots on a pair of denim capris. At first I thought it was blood, and tried peroxide. It didn't budge. So I tried soaking them in Biz...no luck. I finally pulled out the rubbing alcohol. The ink started bleeding out. I soaked and scrubbed the spot numerous times throughout the day, and it all came out. I used an old plastic container and placed the spots in it and really doused the ink and let them stand in about an inch of alcohol. Hope this helps. You might want to wear gloves...I still have ink around my cuticles.

When I have marker stains, I use Sol U Mel. When it was red, I also used PreSpot and soaked it in water w/ detergent (we use Mela Power). My white shirt was better than new.

If you have any friends that shop with Melaleuca, ask to borrow some Sol-U-Mel; it gets out ANY stain. Good luck.
