How Often Do You Follow up with Your Questions/answers?

I love this site! there are always new questions, controversies, and opinions. Even if it's something I don't have to deal with, I love to read questions and the answers that go with them. If I post an answer to a question, I have to go back a couple days later and see what answers other moms posted, and how they coincide or differ from mine. lol. I also love to see how things worked out (if the questioner updates the "so what happened" section.) I don't really update mine very often though. How about you other mommas? I'm just curious. :)

What can I do next?

I always go back to the questions that I posted answers to and am always disappointed when the mom hasn't updated her post with a "So What Happened." It seems that most moms don't post an update. I wish they would.

I've only posted a few questions, and I've always updated the "So What Happened" section.

However, the one drawback about this site is that it's static. Yes, you may be able to post a question, but it doesn't allow for conversations to be generated and it doesn't really allow for alerts to the responders when the poster has updated the original question.

Linkedin, a professional social site, sends an e-mail response each time there's a new comment, and it allows you to comment multiple times.

Mamapedia is a little bit of an addiction, but I've found myself less and less interested in responding lately. I really genuinely try to give an opinion that is helpful from my point of view. A few times, people have gotten nasty because they had the polar opposite opinion and called me out on it. I just think those things are better done privately - and, we all have our own reasons for our personal points of view.

it depends.....if it's a question that had a lot of heated comments I like to go back and see what other moms said after me or if the "what happened" section was updated. Also if it's about someone thinking they are pregnant or something like that then I like to go back to see if they posted once they found out for sure.

I check back if I find it interesting enough, and I always try to do a "so what happened" especially if it's about a product or something important. I love checking to see what I get "flowers" for. :)

Oh, wow, this is a really good question and so good to know. I have only posted an update one time I think and it wasn't really an update. It was more of a, "Whoa, whoa, whoa a couple of you guys are WAY off base, so let me explain." I never did the updates because I didn't figure anyone was all that interested. Now I'm gonna make sure I go back and update the last question I had.

I do love this site, though, because I think it's great when moms can support other moms.

I am also want people to go back and update the answers. If a lot of people keep coming, I would like for people to update the updates :) I try to not leave loose ends.

I have only posted one question and it only received one response ( must not have been very exciting!!) but I do think that it would be nice if the website added a feature so that you could be notified when you receive responses to your questions. I too would love more updates from the questioners...so many of the things that are written about here, I would love to hear how it turned out as time passed.

I actually like that the site is static. I belong to other discussion boards and I do like that format, but for the purpose this site serves, I would rather not see some of these topics degenerate into nasty arguments. And they would, if we were allowed to post multiple times on a topic. The format serves it's purpose, is what I'm trying to say.
