I would pay him $40-50 bucks. It would still save you money if you left them at a doggy day care. Our neighbor gave my son $20 for just watering plants for 2 days. If you pay them well, he would babysit again.
I'm going out of town at the end of the month. I've asked my 16 year old neighbor to watch our 2 dogs (pitbull and dachshund). It will be from Friday evening to Sunday 6 pm. He may or may not spend the night as he lives right next door, but he is more than welcome to. How much should I pay him? This involves feeding dogs twice (morning and evening) and then letting them out 3-4 times a day.
Thanks for all of the advice. I will probably pay him $45 - $50 since it will be for 2 full days and just once Friday evening. We do have a fenced in backyard, so there is no walking involved.

$50? Wow, I wish I could do it!
mmmmhhhhh..... I think doggy day cares charge anywhere from 25 to 50 dollars or more per day depending on the size of dog. So is $100.00 too much? I think 100.00 would be very generous. Maybe less....$75.00.
Good luck
What value do you place on your dogs? How much do you value your neighbor? You decide what it is worth to you to have your dogs taken care of. Pay what you feel it's worth to take good care of your dogs.
PS: My neighbor travels for a week every September. He has quite a nice garden in back yard...it's small because it is a condo. And he values his flowers at $100 for a week of watering. It takes about 45 mins to water all the flowers and put the mail in the house. So if we broke it up per day...he pays $14 an hour for flowers. What are your dogs worth to you?
I know the rate for a pet sitting company to come and stay the night at your house with the dogs is $75.00 a day. Not sure if that helps you at all or not but at least it gives you an idea of what a pet setting company would charge. Good Luck.
We've paid $15 per day in similar circumstances (2 dogs, close neighbor kid), fed 1x per day, let out 3 to 4 times into our fenced yard.
He's next door, and it's not hard work. If walks were needed, I would probably up the amount by a couple of dollars per (long) walk needed.
