How Much Sleep Do You Get Every Night?

I'm trying out a new sleep schedule for myself, one where I do more of it.

Curious how much sleep you all get and how that works for you...

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Yah, me too. I was getting 5-7 hours of sleep most nights.

For the past four nights, I've been able to put myself to bed early. I've slept 10 hours each night. I feel...I think they call it rested ;-) I'm going to see if I can keep it up for a while. Get more sleep, let my body catch up.
Sounds like we could all use some extra sleep! I'm hoping we all get it!

This past week I started watching two children and am EXHAUSTED! SO, I have been going to sleep (lights out, snoring) at 11pm. I wake up at 6. I need more sleep so this week I am going to try to be in bed at 10, lights out at 10:30.

I like to sleep from 12:30 or so until 7:30. If I go to bed earlier, I end up waking up very early and am sometimes not able to get back to sleep.

5-6 hours during the week. Usually I get about 8-9 on the weekends and will sometimes get a nap, too. It's not enough, but I still function well on little sleep. Although I'm really looking forward to the weekend and being able to sleep in by the time Friday rolls around!

I like 8 hours. Lately, the kids have been waking me to use the toilet, etc. When they do, I've usually gotten about 4 hours of sleep, and half the time I can't go back to sleep!

Ugh - somewhere between 5 and 6 hours, usually. I do best on 8 hours of sleep, but there are never enough hours in the day...

My boys are 9 and 10 years old. Their bedtime is 8:30. I go to bed at 9-9:30 and sleep until 5:30am...so that's 8 hours. My fiancee and I have coffee together in bed every morning. :-) We could both sleep until 6:20 or so, but enjoy the time we spend together, and it helps us both to wake up.

sleeptime is 1130 or 1200 most nights.. I wake up when the kids do at 7 am . so I get 7 hours.. I do work 2 days a week so those days I am up by 6 am..

Also my son frequently gets up in themiddle of the night.. wet pants.. scared.. lost blanket wants to sleep next to mom.. so that is an hour of missed sleep while I settle him down.

I NEED lots of sleep...I am just one of those people that have to have it or I don't function well!

I get about 7 hrs a night. I am a morning person and am awake EVERY day by 7am no matter what the daily schedule is and it doesn't matter what time I go to sleep at night...always up by 7am w/out an alarm clock!

6.5-7 but it's not enough, a solid 9 would be so great. I actually thought about making getting more sleep a Lent commitment, but I just can't figure out how to get it all done before 9 pm

I sleep 6.5 hours. The husband and little one are away visiting family out of town and I am all alone with nothing but time to myself. I fell asleep about 11:00 last night, moved from the couch to the bed at midnight and was awake by 6:00 a.m. this morning. I really planned to sleep in, it just didn't work.

I usually go to bed around 11 or 12. My husband usually gets up with the kids (he has a later work shift) so on those days I get up around 8 or 9am, but the days he works over time (maybe 2 days a week) I am up at 5:30am to get myself ready before waking up the kids for school.

Yay Sleep!

I wake up on my own after 7, 9, or 12 hours. It's a multiple wake up thing. If I DON'T have to be up (like my son is having an overnight with my mum), I roll over and keep dreaming. But to sleep myself out? 7, 9, or 12 depending on how much sleep I've been getting.

For the past year I usually get 5-6 hours. Until this fall when my son was put on steroids (HUGELY helped his breathing), I'd wake up every hour to either glance at his monitors (in the hospital) or check his vitals (at home). This fall, that's shifted to waking every 2-3 hours to check on him.

Weekdays, I'm usually sleeping by midnight and the alarm goes off at 6:00.
Some nights I make an effort to get to bed by 11.
But, usually six hours is typical.

Weekends, I try to sleep til 8ish, so more like 8 on weekends.

I probably get a solid 7 hours a night during the week, a little more on the weekend. I feel much better when I get 9 hours a night, But I can't seem to get myself to bed much before 11, And then I like to read for a half hour in bed before I go to sleep.

I'm usually asleep by 10:30 and 3 week days the alarm is set for 5:15...so that's about 7hrs. The other 2 weekdays I get another 1/2 hour. On the weekends my eyes automatically pop open between 6 and 6:30....I COULD go back to sleep, but the thought of having the 1st floor to myself for a solid hour while the kids sleep in is too tempting!

It's not even 5pm right now and I'm dragging....but my 7y/o was diagnosed with pneumonia today (for the 6th time since she was 3) and I've been up since 3am! I need another glass of Coke Zero!!

Lately? Seriously feels like NONE! Between my 2 year old going through a growth spurt and waking up several times a night, and my insomnia I'd say between 3 and 5 hours. If I'm lucky. And it's not in a row. I am exhausted lately. And I have been taking sleeping pills and they dont even help.

Sooooo tired!!!

4 or 5, if I am lucky. That is interrupted sleep since my son wakes me during the night. he has eczema on his face and when he starts to scratch , i automatically wake up. Poor thing itches. I also work full time so I am exhausted by Friday.
