Some babies are born with teeth believe it or not! There is no general age when all babies start teething, each kid is different! Thats what makes em so great!
Hi ya all... I think my 3 month old may be beginning to teeth. Is this crazy? I had no idea babies this young could do so. My older child didnt get her first tooth till she was 15 months old and then within 3 months had 12 teeth. She never drooled a lot, no pain that she displayed and on the days that she wwas visually bothered by it, those natural highlands tablets worked just fine. So, my 13 week old son has been just gnawing on his fist and drooling everywhere. At times he seems just so grouchy, which he never is. When looking at his bottom gum you can see this white dot just under the surface which seems to be very transparent. Could it be? Have any of you dealt with an early teether? and what do you do to help any of the discomft? I do not believe in Orajel becaus a friends daughter had a very bad reaction to it and it scares me silly that the sam could happen to my baby. Any info would be great..Thanks!

Hi W.,
My son was teething at 2mos and broke through teeth by 4mos! Your son is absolutely teething.Try Humphries or the Hyland tablets, they work great! Good Luck and Congratulations.
I think that kids start teething at all different ages. I don't think it's too crazy!
My oldest had his first tooth at 4 months and my niece and nephew had theirs at around 3 months. It's definitely possible. I found that my oldest (the early teether) had a lot of discomfort with teething. I would actually give him tylenol ocassionally (ok'd by pediatrician) to help him. If you don't believe in medicating for this, then a partially wet washcloth put in the freezer may be very soothing. Teething rings sometimes help, but at 13 weeks it may still be hard for your son to manipulate a teether well enough.
Hi W. -
Yes, babies can start teething right away. My son had two complete bottom teeth by the time he was 3 months old. With early teething, your son might be an early talker too.
Good luck! - L.
W....I have twin boys and my one boy started teething at two months and had his first tooth poke through at 4 months...you arent crazy!! As for the discomfort...I'm not sure whats best, but teething tabs and rings are good if they will take them. Mine likes to chomp on is pacifier. I wouldst use orajel only because I hear it doesn't last too long. You could also try massaging the gum a few times a day...my boy likes that as well.
My little girl is almost 1...on may 31...she got her first tooth at 4-1/2 months every babies is different and goes at their own pace. Just remember tylenol doesn't hurt and neither does teething meds
Both my girls got their first teeth at 5 months, and I've even heard of babies being born with teeth (but it's rare). Wet the corner of a washcloth and put it in the freezer. When he starts gnawing or getting grumpy, give him the frozen washcloth to chew on. I found it better than teething rings because they could hold on to it better, it didn't get as slimy, and absorbed the drool. When it got bad we used Orajel and neither girl had any reaction to it (although it tastes awful). We did find a British brand (can't remember the name, sorry) that tasted of bananas and that worked (and tasted) much better. You could try the gels at the ped's office, just in case. Congratulations on your new baby!
My son started by 3mos as well. I used Hyland teething tablets as well.
