How Do You Get Water Spots off Glass Shower Doors?

I have been in my house for almost a year and already I have water spots on my shower door. When you stand away from the door you can't see the spots...the glass looks clear, but from up close you can see it. I've tried CLR, Lime Away, The Works and just about everything else. I clean the bathroom once a week and we have soft water so I'm not sure how to prevent this from getting worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I wanted to thank everyone for their response. So far I haven't found anything that works, but I'm still going down my list of ideas. :) I really think it is the water here. I got a new van last month and after washing it for the second time I've noticed the same spots on the van windows. You can't see the spots from a distance, but when looking up close, like when washing them, you can notice it. Same thing as my shower doors. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks and I'll let everyone know when and if I find something that works. Thank You..... Tammy

I use Hydrogen Peroxide for everything! It cleans water spots, soap scum, mirrors!, white laundry, disinfects countertops, takes oders out of the air, toilets, and so much more! Try it, it's cheap and easy to use with no fowl or harmful chemical smell! Hope this helps.

Try using vinegar that worked for me when I was still in college and my appartment windows needed to be washed badly that I went and tried all the window cleaners and then I tried vinegar and that worked.

Best of luck to you

I use baking soda, make a paste with it and use it as a scrub, its a natural scrubbing agent and has no odor. Also I found that Soft Scrub deep clean works great as well.

Hope this helps

I have had the same problems. I get all of my cleaning products as well as personal products from a company called Melaleuca. They are fabulous and you will be amazed at the difference. If you are interested, let me know, I will get you all of the details. Email me at ____@____.com.

I 've had a cleaning business for 16 years. I found that as crazy as it sounds Lemon oil on a rag works the best of all. It may take a couple of cleanings then when ever you clean do it. Just a hint.
I'm happily married to a wonderful guy and we had a wonderful surprise a little boy for our 20th wedding anniversary three years ago.So needless to say I'm only cleaning one day a week now. Deb W

vinegar and water solution may take this off i know it works on plastic really well....i highly recomend the scrubbing bubbles shower cleaner that they advertise on tv now. I have one in every single one of my showers and WOW!! i dont have to scrub them anymore i do go in once every few weeks and clean them out myself but i really dont need to do more than just take a washcloth over them just to make sure they are getting clean. It even works in my showerstall with a glass door i havent seen any waterspots on it in months.

Try some stuff called BathBryte. You may only be able to get it on the internet. Google it. It is a gel. I just wipe it on and let it sit a while then rinse it off.

Mr. Clean has a bathroom cleaning kit that works great on the shower doors, and the cleaning bubbles has a great kit that will spray the shower every time you press a button to prevent them from coming back, or Tilex has an after shower spray that works great too, however everyone needs to remember to spray down the door when they are done!!! lol Good Luck!

I like everyone else's suggestions. We keep a squeegee (sp?) in the shower and after every shower we squeegee after the last person showers we spray the daily shower treatment- we used to use the tilex brand but have had luck with "Method" brand from Target too.

I don't know how to prevent the spots from happening but I do know the Mr Clean magic eraser works amazingly to remove soap scum build up and water spots from the shower walls and doors. I try to use the daily shower spray to keep it clean and less spotty, but dh is the 2nd one in the shower everyday and he never uses it.

I use Tilex soap scum remover (it's the foaming kind) and it gets everything out of my shower. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot.

I have two suggestions:
After you clean the glass doors, pour oil for wood (like Old English) onto a paper towel or rag and wipe it onto the door. It makes it really clean!!
Keep a squeegie (soory I don't know how to spell that) in your shower and when you take a shower, squeegie the door before you get out.
