i have something that i need to tell my friend, for her saftey. you see i have a friend that is a cop and he told me to tell the one's that i care about, about a threat on her. in my area, (jo. co) there has been a new car-jacking tecnique used where, when she will get into her car after shopping, the person will 'sneak' a sticker on her rear window so it looks like a parking ticket. so when she looks in her rearview mirror, she will naturally get out to see it and whammo! he will rush her and make off with her car, purse and everything. hoping there is no child in the car. so the question is how do i tell her she is in danger without offending her?

Why would that offend her? I do not know anyone that would be offended when you are concerned about their safety. There may be extremes out there but just say it like you did in your question. "The cop told you to tell everyone"
I also think that that was good info for everyone here on mamasource to read and be aware of.

Just tell her. That sounds strange that someone would get offended by you telling them something like that. Just start by saying "I heard..." or something. You're only trying to look out for her so she should be grateful to you for telling her. I'm glad I read it!!
what about this information is offensive to your friend? I get several e-mails warning me about the dangers of these type of carjacking techniques all the time. This is nothing new. You are worrying about this too much. Just pass it on.
