I don't know the answer to your question, but I would call your infants pediatrician.
Hi everyone,
My three year old daughter positioned herself and accidentally fell on top of my 4 month old daughters head. I believe she pushed her elbow right on the soft spot. My 4 month old daughter cried hysterically for at least 5 minutes straight. She seemed OK once it was said and done, but I am a little concerned about the situation. Should I be concerned?? Has this happened to anyone's child? If so, what did you do? I'm normally not this concerned about things, but for some reason this one is really bothering me. Any feedback would be great!!

Thank you for the quick responses to my concern. I truly believe that my daughter is OK!! I needed some feedback because my doctors office was closed and they are not open Sat-Sun. Otherwise I would have called them first before asking this question. I was just really concerned because you could tell that my daughters scream was a real "pain" scream. I've felt the soft spot 24 hours later and it feels soft. She hasn't seem out of the ordinary, so my concerns have passed. Again, thanks for the quick responses. It really helped to ease my mind!!!!

I am a nurse in a pediatric icu and a mother to a five month old. Does the soft spot feel nice and soft? Things to worry about= if the soft spot feels more tense, if your child is more sleepy and difficult to arrouse, if your child starts vomiting, or anything out of the ordinary. If your child is acting as usual and the soft spot feels soft you should be ok but if you have any concern then call your pediatrician.

I have to admit that I tripped and dropped my son about the same age. The doctor said that if he behaved differently, it was cause for concern, and he also said that the soft spot would bulge with blood if their was damage to it. I hope that helps, and that your baby if alright!
I know in certain instances a raised soft spot would be an area for concern, but other than that I am not sure. Like Sara suggested I would urge you to call your pediatrician as it would at least give you some piece of mind. I'm sure the baby is fine, accidents happen, but better safe than sorry when it comes to an infant.
