WHEN YOU GET BACK.
Please tell us you have already gone? It doesn't take a lot to get a concussion. Nausea is not a good sign. Go, have someone else drive you, GO.
I hit my forehead this morning leaning over to see something my dog spit out. I was sitting in a chair and hit the chair back next to me, HARD - somehow I didn't see how close it was.
I now have quite a lump on my forehead. Does this mean that I would NOT have intracranial bleeding (since the swelling is going outward)? I feel weirdly nauseated and tired tonight (no chance of pregnancy). I've been OK most of today until now.
Would you go to the doctor over this?
ETA: No head-ache at all. I would think there would be a head-ache by this point if things were getting worse (?).
Thank you everyone who responded - hugs. I ended up staying home and I asked my husband to keep an eye on me. We all had to be up very early this morning so I didn't want to go spend 6 hours at the ER (silly I know). It's possible I had a stomach bug - it's been going around down here.
I'm doing OK today but I still have the big lump. Ugh.
Thanks again.

Go now.
Just because you have a lump does not mean you don't have bleeding going on inside your head.
We are not doctors, we cannot give you medical advice. Either call your doctor or go to the ER now because you could be seriously hurt. Nausea and tiredness are indications of head injuries and should be checked.
Yes. I would go now.
Nausea after hitting your head is a sign of a possible concussion.
If you feel tired and nauseated, I think you should go to the doctor.
See the doctor. I hope you've already been to the doctor's office as I write this. Make your doctor earn a little money! It's better to go and find out there isn't a problem than not to go and find there is.
That said, I did the same thing last week. I stopped at the doorway to my bedroom, turned around to see where the dog was, turned back and - WHAMMO! - my forehead hit the door frame. It wasn't as if the door frame moved or anything. I think there was a bit of, um, stupidity there.
I almost saw stars. I lay down with an ice pack right away, and waited until there was nausea or blurred vision. They didn't happen, so I felt safe. There was (and is) indeed an interesting bump, and it has put on a fairly decent technicolor show.
But I'm making this post too long, and you're dealing with nausea and unusual fatigue. Get it checked asap, please.
It was a controlled hit? In other words you would leaning forward, in control of your body, and didn't see the object you hit your head on?
If so you are fine and the nausea is psychosomatic. You are tired because it is around seven in the evening, I am tired too, no head trauma here.
I got hit over the head with a twenty pound beam, nothing but stitches. Granted I have a hard head but a controlled bump should not cause any issues.
If you feel weirdly nauseated, then I will bet you have sloshed your brain around in your skull. If I were you, I'd go to the ER.
No headache is not an indication of trouble. Honestly, you should go get looked at.
Typically, if one feels nauseated after hitting their head - they have a concussion.
Just because you have a lump on the outside does NOT mean there isn't pressure INSIDE. Personally? I would go to the doctor. Your husband could've checked your eyes with a flashlight to see if there was a concussion as well. Your pupils will dilate differently - and it's obvious to a layman on that front.
I would have gone to the doctor. If you are still feeling ill today - go. Make an appointment and go.
You could go to your PC dr & have him give you a script for a CT scan. I am a worry wart when it comes to stuff like this, only b/c my oldest ended up w/having to be treated by a pediatric neurologist from a day of sleigh riding. Better to be safe than sorry. Best of luck!
