I received one for my baby shower from Kohl's and its fantastic. It's good sized so it can be used for quite some time. I've been using mine for 2 years and its still soft and thick. Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for.
My nephew is turning 1 and I want to get him one of those hooded bath towels with an animal head on the hood. I looked at Target and Toys R Us online, but the customer reviews said that the towels were really poor quality. I want something that is going to last him years. eBay has a few vendors, but I was hoping to get a recommendation from someone who bought a hooded towel and had it hold up for the long haul.
Thanks,
S.
Thank you so much everyone! I am excited to do some shopping at the places you recommended and I appreciate the time you took to respond.

We have some from Pottery Barn kids - they are wonderful!! Had them for about 5 years now and they still hold up nicely!
I got my kids some at Kohls. They have lasted almost two years and still dont have any rips or tears. They are usually 50% off or BOGO too.
i've had all kids of hooded towels and lands end were the best. if you go to sears (lands end section) towards the end of february, they'll have the sets on sale. i usually get mine for 4.99. they are awesome. my kids are 5 and i still buy only lands end towels.
I got a firefighter one from Kohls this past fall. It's great. It's held up really well for my twins - and they fight over who gets it! lol
Nordstroms has some very nice thick and good quality towels!
I got my sons at kohls. I do not remember the brand, but they are nice and thick and warm.
My daughter has a pink bunny hooded towel from Pottery Barn Kids. I got it as a baby shower gift two years ago and it still looks brand-new - and we've used it as her main towel. It's a little pricier than the towels I've seen at Target, but I think it's worth it.
Kohl's! Usually on sale for $10 and great quality, lots of choices, etc.
I've had good luck with the cute hooded towels from Pottery Barn Kids, Lands End and LL Bean.
I would try Land's End. Look at their website. They have great quality products and I have seen the hooded towels in their catalogs in the past.
Great gift idea!
Go to Kohl's...I got a bear and butterly one for my daughter, she's now 2 and they are a lot thicker and bigger to. Since things are always on sale at Kohl's, they aren't too expensive either!
we had our hooded towel from Kohl's for about 3 years before the hood started to detach. They are almost always on sale, so a good buy for the price.
We got the puppy and lion from Target and they've lasted us 2 years and still going.
Pottery barn kids. We got our first one when my son was 16 months old. He's 5 1/2 and still uses it!
Hi S.-
I too searched internet site after internet site and came up with nothing. I finally bought some really great bath towels and had my MIL make some for my son as well as for gifts. She is now selling them. I would be happy to send you pictures and we would be happy to ship them to you if you choose to purchase. They are really big and super soft. We have a variety of different colors to choose from and will take custom orders as well. You can contact me at ____@____.com for more information. The already made store bought versions that people are talking about are not nearly as soft or as big. I have given these as gifts for 1-6 year olds so far and they all love them.
Thanks!
M.
Douglas Cuddle Toys makes some really nice hooded bath towels!
I know you have recieved a lot of answers already but I just wanted to share. My sister-in-law bought both my kids the hooded animal towels from Lands End and they even have their names on them. They both love them.
The ones that Kohl's carries- I think the brand is Jumping Beans- are really high quality and really cute! Of course the ones from Pottery Barn Kids are great, too but they are pricy.
Pottery Barn Kids - we love our shark and frog!!!!
try lillian vernon.. they are really nice..sears seems good too
We got ours at JC Penny and it has lasted forever.
I just saw them in an Avon catalog. I also bought my son 2 of them at Kohls. Not sure if Kohls still carries them as I bought mine right before Christmas. The ones I bought seem very durable. We use them all the time. So far no issues with them being of poor quality. Hope it helps.

Try Pottery barn for Kids. My Mom got one for my little girl for Christmas and it's wonderful!
Lands End, LL Bean or Pottery Barn Kids have great quality hooded towels!
Something to keep in mind...a lot of those hooded towels are quite small. My five year old loves them, but they don't cover his body at all--and he loves/needs to be warm when he gets out of the shower/bath or there's a big meltdown. The hooded towels we have don't cover his body. We got ours at Target; they're not "baby" towels but they are kids' towels and thus smaller than a regular body towel. If you are looking for something "long term" (I would say our Target ones have been around 2 years and are no worse for the wear...and how long do you want a kid to use a towel? He will probably outgrow it by 5 or 6.) you should probably get something with a big towel-part.
Pottery Barn Kids is great! It's hard to match their quality anywhere! An added bonus is that for a small added fee (I think it's usually $6) they will embroider his name on it too!
Try this website: http://www.towelbuddies.com/catalog.php?category=Hooded+T.... We got some from them, and they are good quality. However, if your kids are very young, I would recommend not getting white towels (my oldest insisted on a unicorn towel and my youngest wanted a bunny towel).
Pottery Barn Kids is a good place.
