High Cholsterol

I have my cholesterol levels check yearly because both my parents must take cholesterol lowering medication because their bodies produce too much. Every year mine has been fine until this last test. My total went up 50 points in 10 months! My LDL was the culprit. It rose over 40 points. I eat a very low fat, healthy diet. I don't exercise as much as I do when it is a bit cooler outside, but am very active-mom of two little boys. My weight is normal, actually it has dropped since last year. I am completely healthy otherwise. I am 37. Does anyone out there have high cholsterol and is physically fit? Have you lowered your LDL? How did you do it? Any recipes for oatbran which my doctor suggested? Has anyone heard of or taken Cholest Off? Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

My husband struggled with high cholsterol did not want to take due to fear of side effects. I found a great supplement with US Government patent that has helped him and now it is not an issue. My whole family is on it and we have a total well being. let me know if you are still looking and I will share details.

Best Wishes!

Mom to my sweet daughter and loving life!

Hi Carolyn...I don't have problems with High Cholesterol, but a couple of friends of mine did. They used the following and got their levels down and saw results after 1 month.

They took ProvexCV and the Vitality Pack (vitamins), Phytomega (the phytosterols and omega-3 fatty acids help to lower cholesterol leves and maintain healthy triglyceride levels for enhanced cardio health). Florify (exert a hypocholesterolemic effect).

Good luck to you and keep working out!!!

A great breakfast that helps lower cholesterol consists of hot oatmeal with crushed walnuts mixed in. Walnuts do have fat, but it is good fat. Sometimes a lowfat diet does not contain enough good fat which helps lower bad cholesterol. The best walnuts to buy are the ones that you use for baking. They are not smoked, etc.

Also, drink 8 ounces of 100% Pomegranate juice every day. It is expensive...but you can find it at Wal-Mart and Costco. And it is better absorbed by your body than supplements are. HTH

Hi Carolyn,

I highly recommend that you try adaptogens! My husband and I ordered an incredible book off Amazon titled Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief by Winston and Maimes. It is fascinating. From the book "There is a category of herbs called adaptogens that help the human body adapt to stress, support normal metabolic processes, and restore balance. They increase the body's resistance to physical, biological, emotional, and environmental stressors and promote normal physiologic function".

The 10 most potent adaptogens on the earth, with the highest therapeutic properties available, are now delievered in a fast acting, great tasting, oral spray, called Tunguska Mist. Go to www.VitalHealth.TunguskaMist.com to learn more.

Specific adaptogens that are in the Tunguska Mist Pure and Relieve have been shown in clinical studies to help lower LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Taking Tunguska Mist will also help boost your energy and stamina, improve your immune system, increase your mental clarity, and enhance your physical performance. With the intra-oral spray, you get over 90% of the nutrients absorbed immediately in Tunguska Mist, which go to work within seconds. Pills, tablets, and caplets (like Cholest Off) only provide about 10% absorption, or less, according to the Physicians Desk Reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions. My husband and I have been taking adaptogens for a long time, and are passionate about helping people reduce the damaging effects of stress on the body and restoring balance naturally, without medications. Good luck and God Bless:)

Best regards,
N.

I have high cholesterol and only weigh 115. My total is about 385 (was close to 600 when pregnant). :oS

Here are some tips:

* Don't be worried about it; worrying makes it higher.

* Eat Cheerio's; they are proven to lower it.

* Be active when you can; the test may have been different because of the less activity.

* Lowering your weight may have effected the results as well.

Continue with your low fat diet. Did you take the test "fasting"? This can be a factor.

I hope it helps. :o)

Blessings,

P. <><

Hi Carolyn,
My husband was diagnosed on the low side of high cholesterol 2 years ago. We are very healthy- I cook with olive oils and herbs- and we do not eat meals with more thatn 5 grams of saturated fat per sitting. He is the right weight.
I started him on the Vitality Pack Total which contains the Phytomega and Provex C mentioned in earlier email. I also put him on Prostolic which is supposes to help with blodd pressure- He does not have a probelm there but thought for maintenance- I should put him on it. A year ago- he broke his leg and was in the hospiral for 1 week. They did all this blood work. His cholesterol had lowered - the only thing we really changed was our supplements. At any rate, private email me if you are interested in knowing where to get them. Thanks and good luck.

Hi Carolyn, I'm usually not a downer, but I do have some advice since this situation just recently happened it my family. You can't fight genetics. I would try lowering with my diet, if you want to try the vitamins and all that but if it doesn't work for you, don't be surprised. Genetics plays a huge part. I was mad when I was diagnosed with hight BP at 24 which I got from my mom, she was 18. I have migraines since middle school and I was told I had headaches earlier than that which I now take meds everyday for, I also got that from my mom. My advice is to eat as healthy as you can and exercise and if the doctor tells you to take a cholesterol medicine, take it, you don't want to risk hurting your heart permanently. Those are my thoughts for what they're worth. Good luck.
