Odo Ban is a great product for this!
Also you could sprinkle baking soda all over the spot heavily and then put vinagar on top the baking soda. it will bubble up and help neutralize the smell and if there is a stain.

Hi - I'm looking for suggestions to help get rid of that nasty cat urine smell. Our cat got stuck out on our enclosed front porch one night, and needless to say, without a litter box, she was out of luck. I've treated the spot with baking soda and have left an open box of soda on the porch, and the smell seemed to get better. But whenever it gets humid, the smell comes right back. Do you have any ideas to get rid of it for good? I hate having that odor hit me (or anybody else who comes to our front door) when I go out on the porch. By the way - the porch is cement flooring. Thanks!!
Ok -so here is what I did. I had already put baking soda on the spot, so that seemed to help initially, but didn't finish the job. So since I already had bleach and vinegar here at home, I poured a 50/50 solution of vinegar and hot water over the spot. (There was still a bit of baking soda left, so it bubbled up and foamed for me.)I let it set for a bit, then poured hot water over it again to rinse it. I used a wet/dry vac and vacuumed up the liquid, then rubbed a thin covering of bleach over the area. I have a fan out there now drying up the bit of moisture that is left. I have Febreeze ready to spritz on there too. I did a close up sniff test, and the odor so far seems to be gone. Thanks you so much for all the suggestions! I've kept a list of all the suggestions of store products to use, so I'll have those as backup in case I need them!

Go to Sams Club and get a jug of OdoBan. It is awesome can use it for lots of stuff. Mix it with water as strong as you you need put on spot is gone!
Go to your local pet store and get Natures Miracle pet odor remover. We used it when my sisters cat went in her bathroom, but it trickled under the baseboard and got on the carpet in the hall. Just follow the directions. Very easy to use. Once the Natures Miracle dried, you couldn't smell it anymore. Comes in gallon and hand held sizes. Good luck.
Straight white vinegar and hot water.
My in-laws had to clean a particularly smelly rental apartment once after tenants left who'd had a cat. My MIL found a great product on-line called Just Rite Cleaning Products, Inc. You can find the website at http://www.justrite.com/. Just call the toll free number and talk to the gentleman who runs the company (I think). He's very knowledgeable. He helped me get the cat urine smell out of our cement basement floor in our old house before we sold it. The products also work on carpet, and I've already used them in our new house where my cat peed because she was stressed. In fact, I need to call and order some more!

I wold use either Oder Xit or Nature's Miracle. They say with Nature's Miracle the longer it's wet with it the better because it takes time to break down the enzemes. They also will give your money back if it doesn't work. You can get it at most pet stores. Odor Exit you can get online or at Big Bob's used carpets here in Cincinnati. They also use this foe fire smells.
The best cure for cat urine is good ol fashioned vinegar. Works every time
Yes! Take a big bottle or two of white vinegar and flood the porch with it. Let it sit, then hose it off. The vinegar will neutralize the smell and it will bring any stains out of the concrete. I used vinegar to scrub a few rust spots out of my concrete and it did such a nice job that I need to do the whole porch b/c you can completely see where I cleaned it and it wasn't that dirty.
Try odor x it. it is by far the best thing out there.
I use this stuff called Simple Solution. I got it from a dog groomer and now my vet. My last cat had problems with urinatry tract infections and I used it alot. Never had a problem with stains or smells when I used it.
I have had the same problem 50% hot water mixed with 50% vinager.. works every time!!!! on cement and carpet!!! :-)
it it's cement flooring try a mixture of bleach and water and mopping the area. good luck!
Run, don't walk, to this web site: http://www.zeroodorpet.com
This stuff really, really works. You will have to absolutely soak the spot where your cat urinated, but it will be totally neutralized if you do, and the scent will not return. It might take as many as two soakings, but it does work. It even takes out the stain.
It works equally well on hairball stains, and any other biological "accidents." I cut my hand deeply on a butcher knife while I was doing dishes (straight into a vein), and it bled profusely. the blood covered the front of a brand new coral hoodie. I sprayed Zero Odor on it, and it took out every last hint of stain. I can't recommend this highly enough!
If you're not willing to wait for the Zero Odor to arrive, you can also try Nature's Miracle. White vinegar can also be helpful, but you will need to treat the area on a regular basis.
Good luck!
I would go to your local vet and get a spray that is made to rid things of skunk smell. It is about $13. a bottle and you just squeeze too spray.I have 5 indoor cats and my 22 year old has accidents due to his age. A small amount of this stuff kills the smell forever.I hope it works on cement floors. It works great on carpet and other surfaces.
Before spending money, I'd try scrubbing the area with distilled vinegar. I've never tried it on cat urine, but it's great for many other stains and odors. Hope this helps.
Call your veterinary hospital and see if they carry F.O.N it is feline odor neutralizer. It is the best thing to get rid of the smell of urine!!!!

Cat urine is difficult to eliminate with regular household itmes. I have found great success with enzyme treatments that basically break down the urine from the carpet therefore eliminating any chance of having the "after smell". You can purchase these items at most pet stores or on line. And sometimes the vets will carry them. Good luck!
Nature's Miracle - I swear by it!
Start with white distilled vinegar and if that doesn't do it, try the enzyme products that you can get at your local pet product store. Vinegar alone really helps with dog urine-even they can't smell it anymore. The enzymes work great too.
Good luck.

Nature's Miracle ~ Just for Cats. I have seen it at Petsmart. There is a Nature's Miracle and then a special formula for cats in the cat section. Cat urine is a tough one to get rid of. Our cat had a bladder infection and went on our brand new couch. We purchased 4 different cleaners including a very expensive one from the vet and the Nature's Miracle for cats seemed to give the best results. The trick is to make sure you cover every drop of urine or you will still be able to smell it. Good Luck!
You can buy stuff specifically to remove the odor from just about any surface and you would get it at a pet store. I don't remember the name of it, just go in and tell them what you are looking for and they will find it for you.
It works well!
Since the flooring is concrete, my suggestion is to use a sealer on it. That smell is really a tough one to get out of anything but it soaks into the concrete really bad. We had a "cat issue" in our basement and scrubbed and scrubbed with no luck. We found a sealer that trapped the smell and now when the cat has an "issue" it comes right up with no smell. Just something to consider.
Cement floor, YOU are LUCKY. That is fairly easy to get the smell out of. Use bleach and if that doesn't quite get it all try ammonia.
Also, your vet's office will probably have some spray (DON'T TRY HARTZ OR over the counter stuff in the store--it probably wont' work) that is made for that. Or you could also call a carpet cleaner place and ask them what they have.
Unfortunately sometimes we still get that smell around a bay window when it gets warm or hot outside. Of course that is all wood, which is almost impossible to get the smell out of, unless you rip out all of the wood and replace it.
Is there carpet over t he cement? If so, you need a carpet cleaner to get the urine up from underneath. If it's just the slab, I'm not sure why it still smells:(
Hi J.! I had two cats -- one of whom had a bladder infection and peed outside the litter box. What a problem! Since it's cement floor, I would scrub it hard with strong bleach water and let it dry. We did that on an area under carpet, let it dry for three days, layed new carpet, and never smelled it again. I know what you mean about the humidity and it returning, especially if people walk through that area. That's the last odor you want to smell. Cat urine is a tough one. Good luck!
when I had a cat urine smell...first I sprayed the soiled area with bleach and then let it dry (it was on my basement/cement floor) Then I saturated it with Febreeze, I mean I poured it on and then let it dry. Haven't had any problems since. Good luck!
