I just had my baby a week ago. My stomach did so well with stretching and then I got all these stretch marks in the last week! I've been putting Mederma on them and wrapping my stomach with an ace bandage to support my abs going back into place. Please let me know if you know of anything that works better. They're not very deep. They're on the surface of the skin and are pinkish-red in color. I am breastfeeding so I need something that is safe for the baby. Thanks!
There were so many responses, I couldn't read them all :-) I wanted to tell you that Arbonne makes a wonderful anti-aging body serum and lotion that is phenomenal - I have a before and after pic that shows the results one woman experienced after using the products - all botanically based too. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send it to you. I was amazed! With Arbonne too, you have a 45 day money back guarantee to see if it works for you!
Good luck,
M. B.

Stretch marks are scars from your skin stretching to the point of "ripping". The marks on your stomach are not easily viewed while you are pregnant because your view is blocked by your tummy. You cannot eliminate a scar with any type of cream or ointment. If those remedies worked, people would use them on surgery scars. If anyone tells me that they didn't get stretch marks with their pregnancy they are barking up the wrong tree by trying to convince me. When the stretch mark is new, it is pink or purple but then goes to a shiney white because it it scar tissue. Sunning or going to a tanning bed will simply tan your scar. Sorry folks...this is reality. Stretch marks are caused by rapid growth. I would suggest tummy crunches to get your ab muscles back into their pre-pregnancy state.

Cocoa butter, less expensive or With Pentaxyl you no longer have to suffer from embarrassing stretch marks. Pentaxyl is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, safely and effectively. Typically after only four to six weeks the depth of stretch marks is dramatically reduced. Each day the skin will take on a more "lifted" appearance and within four weeks, the radiance will be restored as skin discoloration fades. Over time the skin will be transformed to a more youthful appearance. While nothing can rewind time, Pentaxyl has been shown to restore a beautiful, resilient, flawless skin by fighting against the affects of aging and repairing the damage done by the environment. I have this same problem! I have asked both my OB and my dermatologist about my stretch marks and they have both told me there is not much you can do for them. But both said that if any thing vitamin E oil can help a little. I use capsules and break them open to rub on my stomach. I also have that Bio oil, which you can get at walgreens, and that seems to help too. Overall your stretch marks will lighten on their own and with exercise it will help the process faster.

Hi! Good news! Your stretch marks will fade! Especially if they are not very deep. I couldn't believe how my skin looked after having my 4th and 5th babies. I looked like I had been attacked by a tiger! My youngest is now 8 months old and you can't even see my stretch marks anymore. The ones that were deeper can still be felt, but not seen. If you want to use cream that's fine. I haven't used anything. Good luck!

I am an independant consultant for Arbonne International. Our products are botanically based and repair skin. Arbonne's products are Pure, Safe and Beneficial.
There is 2 step system that has RE9 Body Serum and Body Lotion that totally healed my skin after having 3 children.
Because you are nursing becareful of using products with chemicals. What ever you put on your skin, goes right in to your blood stream.

Hi, Since yours dont sound that bad I would wait before you try anything. But if after a while they haven faded, theres a creme called Strivectin that apparently is a great stretch mark reducer. Its a little pricey though at $135 a bottle, but from what I read works really well. Im sure there are chemicals in there and I dont know if using it while breastfeeding is safe. You should do a little research on it. I hope this helped a little. Good Luck!

Dear V.,
Keeping stretch marks moisturized is most important. They can get very itchy and dry. I am 46 years old and have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren. A doctor once told me I have the worst stretch marks he has ever seen. Mine are deep, I am small build 5'3" , I wear a size 4 in jeans. As time has passed my stretch marks are much lighter. I would never wear a bikini or anything to show any part of my stomach. I actually tanned last summer, the color actually hides them some. But, I now wear hip huggers and cute tops, I work out with an ab lounger and a rebounder (mini trampoline), you know what, I look and feel great. You are a mom, don't be embarrased about any part of you. The skin is distressed right now, they will calm down, keep moisturizing. Exercise and water when all is healed is best way to get in shape and stay in shape, it is a small thing to do for yourself with great results. Those stretch marks just aren't so ugly and important as time passes, there is much you can do to love yourself. Love yourself the way you love others. Keep moisturizing, drink water. Best wishes.

I've been using Bio-Oil. I find that this product works the best. You can get it in Walgreens. It is expensive, $8-10 for 2 fl oz. In the beginning, I put it on twice a day, now I do once a day. The oil does not stain your clothes and it is not greasy. It leaves your skin feeling soft after use. I put it on my breast also due to the fact that I am breastfeding also and I do not want to have stretch marks on my breast. I make sure I do not get it on my nipple.

Hi V.,
I recommend the Arbonne body set. It comes with a body serum and a body lotion. I have a before and after picture of a lady that used it after her 5th pregnancy. You can also use the rejuvenating cream throughout the day. Stretch marks won't go away completely, but Arbonne's products will diminish the appearance of them. If you give me your email address, I'll email the before and after pictures to you. I can also mail some samples to you.

Lots of crunches and cardio will help tighten the skin. Microdermaration will also help a little. Thermage works very well with skin tifhtening. However, it can be exspensive. As far as the color, it will fade with time. There is not much you can do about that except wait.

Hi V.. Congratulations on your new baby! I just had a baby boy myself 14 weeks ago. What a joy he is! I just can't get enough of him! :)
I agree with anyone who has responded about trying Arbonne's RE9 Anti-aging skincare system! Especially the Wash, Body Serum and Lotion. They're phenomenal! And, that's because (YES!) they've been proven to work!
Arbonne's products are all-natural, herbal and botanically based. We use no chemical dyes or fragrances, no mineral oil and no animal by-products. Our products are hypoallergenic, pH balanced and dermatologist and pediatrician tested AND recommended!
You obviously know the importance of keeping your precious baby away from those potentially harmful ingredients because you had a natural home birth and are breastfeeding...good for you! :)
If you'd like a FREE sample, please feel free to email me at ____@____.com to learn more about Arbonne's products, please feel free to visit my website at: www.mandyolsen.myarbonne.com. Good luck!

I used to buy vitamin E capsules and puncture them with a knife, then I would rub the gel on my stomach. I believe that it helped. Although I did get a few, they could've been worse.
