I completely understand your plight. I had morning sickness gone wrong!!!! So bad we decided not to have another baby.
I tried Ginger but it didnt help with my condition...actually nothing did. I threw up for 8 hours straight! I even made a bed in the bathroom because I was sick so much. I couldnt even drink water with out it coming right back up.
They tried phenergan with me but it did nothing. Then they put me on Zophran pills...also did nothing. Then they tried me on the combonation of Phenergan and Zophran...still nada. I was put on Reglan to help hold food down...and Protonix for stomach acid. What finaly help for me was the Zophran pump added with Phenergan tablets. The pump is like an insulin pump in which every two days you stick a niddle in your hip, leg or stomach and it leaves behind a cathider and constantly pumps medications inside your body. Steroids also helped me over some of the humps. With out this medication I would have starved to death and most likely lost the baby.
I sadly was sick the whole preg in and out of the hospital A LOT! The medications didnt hurt her at all! She is perfect and healthy!
My best advice is eat food that you know wont hurt coming back up. Stay away from things that are acidic (orange juice is the worst). Keep away from tomato sauces and anything oily. Also lettuce is hard to digest and will most likely come back up. Best bet stay away from anything heavy (steaks). And dont over stuff yourself...small portions!
I had a prob with over salivating and it would make me nausiated so I would chew gum all the time...long lasting flavor gums and I would suck on lolly pops and pepperments. Try the preggy pops I hear they help!
I hope you are not as bad as I was...but it too will pass and in the end you have a beautiful baby and it will all be worth it!
If you go into the hospital make sure they dont give you Reglan in your IV. It made me feel as it I wanted to jump out of my skin I constantly had to keep shaking my legs and arms...horible feeling! It is a side effect of the drug when given in the IV.
