My daughter just started to eat baby food. My husband and have decided to try and make our own. I tried to put it in the food processor last night and it didn't turn out too well...It was a little chunky. Any suggestions on how to make it better?

What can I do next?

Good morning...I had two boys and then a boy and girl..twins. We cut costs by purchasing the VERY LARGE containers of vegetables, etc. and put them in the blender...but not the juice. As it started to blend, I would add a little juice at a time. After it was all pureed, I pored it into ice cube containers and as I needed one or two for the babies, I pulled them out to defrost during their morning nap. If I wanted to take it with me, I put it in little baby jars (kept some on hand). As they got use to it, I would blend it less to get them use to a new consistency. It was the best thing discovered since sliced bread. Good luck.

I like this website:

I dont know if you need to boil the food longer, add some liquid or just process it longer. I have done this for my children and those are the things that have worked for me. I also bought a small processor- ge deluxe chopper. It work great for me and I really like the size. As my youngest has aged I got a grinder for my kitchenaid and love it too. I've ground up meat, potatoes and carrots all at once for our pot roast that evening.

I've found when we use our food processor I often need to add some liquid... sometimes that still doesn't cut it, so I use the hand mill we were given at a shower. It's made by KidCo and works fine... It's a little messy, though, so I just use it as a last resort - usually adding the liquid will do it.. I don't know if you're using fresh veggies or not, I suppose that could make a difference. We just use canned. I'll mush up a can at a time and freeze them in ice cube trays, then put them in labeled zip-locks... Very convenient to just thaw in the microwave, and it's the perfect serving size. Good luck!

I use a Cuisinart stick blender - easy to clean and good with small quantities.

did you add some sort of liquid? It can either be water, breast milk, or formula.
