Yes - breathable bumpers from Babies R Us. Have been using them with my twins who are now almost two. They're great. Good luck.
Hello moms! I have a 6 month old beautiful daughter who as of two days ago slept in her crib for the first time. We had her in a co-sleeper next to our bed but just learned that the one we had was recalled. Instead of buying another one my husband and I decided it was time to put her in her crib. My daughter moves A lOT in her sleep and that is our concern. There are times when I check on her that I notice she has moved to the opposite side of the crib with her arm hanging between the rails and her face close to it. We are afraid that she may hurt herself one day. I'm not sure what we can use (that is safe)to help minimize her movements. We removed the bumper and any stuffed animals. She doesn't even sleep with a blanket to reduce the risk of SIDS. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of anything that is safe to use that can help miinimize her moving all over the place? Any help or advice is much appreciated.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. My husband and I bought the breathable bumper and it works great! We also bought the Halo Sleep Sac to keep her warm. She has been sleeping better and we feel more comfortable putting her in her crib now than we did a week ago. We even told a friend of ours who was going through the same thing.

Go to babies r us and buy a breathable bumper. it works wonderfully!!
Halo Sleep Sac. They are about $20 at Babies R Us and they are great! We had sorta the same issue, but we were transitioning from swaddling in the basinette to the crib. We had to stop swaddling b/c she was flipping over and that was no good when she couldn't move herself b/c her arms were secured. So, we went to the sack. Yes, she still get's her arm through the slats in the crib, but not a big deal at all because she can pull it back through. The sleep sac is totally safe and recommeneded to use instead of a blanket. Her legs stay inside of the sac and her arm are free to move around. Our daughter is perfectly content with it and we feel safe with her using it.
Good luck! Can't wait to hear how it works for you.
Blessings,
Kelly
My son is a bit of a mover too. To make sure his little arms did not get caught in between the slats I bought something called the breathable bumper. It is very thin mesh that velcros to the crib. I works great. It stays in place really well. My son kicks and pushes off of it and it doesn't budge. They don't stock a lot of them, but I bought mine at babies'r us. I have also seem them at buy buy baby. They only come in very basic colors so don't be dissappointed if you can't find fancy colors. Hope this helps!
I just want to add that I have a Breathable Bumper too. Keeps the arms and legs inside the crib. If you have no bumper at all, then her arms and legs may get caught between the slats. When that happened to my daughter she woke up contorted and crying. The Breathable Bumper is a cotton mesh type material.
My son is 7 months old and has been in his crib since he was about 4 months old. I have the old fashioned bumpers and they work fine. My son likes to scoot up until he can't anymore and then goes to sleep. The bumpers (either the old skool or new breath able ones) will keep her limbs inside. In the winter time I also used the halo sleep sacks and they are wonderful!! They can't kick them off and they won't go over her head!! Lastly as long as your daughter is able to move around and roll over, she over SIDS stage. All kids move all over the place and as long as the crib bed is set low it is the safiest place for her!! (I would put low because she will soon be pulling herself up)
Hi,
I can appreciate what you are saying. My daughter is 22 mos now and has always been a mover.
She has slept in her crib since day 1 and once she figured out how to roll over she hasn't stopped!
I had breathable bumpers on her bed to help keep her from getting limbs stuck in the rails but that was it.
She has never hurt herself rolling around in the crib.
Hope this helps!
