First of all are your towels 100% cotton? If they are, they will tend to have more lint, but they are also the most absorbent. The lint should come off in the dryer.
Be sure to check your dryer's lint basket. Make sure it is collecting tons of lint from the towels with each wash. When you pull the basket out, make sure there is no lint in the collector that surrounds the basket. Then pull the dryer away from the wall and check the exhaust of the dryer, to make sure it is clear. Many times, there is so much lint in there, it cannot pull enough lint in the machine. Is your dryer drying as quickly as it used too?
Are you storing your towels in a closed cabinet? Leaving them out on a shelf or storing them in a basket, collects and holds dust very easily.
Also, NEVER use any type of fabric softener with your towels (or any terry cloth). No dryer sheets either. This places a coating on the towels and changes their texture. I used to be a linen buyer for a major retailer and the manufacturers, never support the use of fabric softeners. They really do not suggest you ever use fabric softeners on any fabrics, it wears out the fabrics quicker.
